2015 Mustang spy shot

A Fairmont by any other name.....is still a Fairmont.

'Depends! If I remember right, Bob Glidden went undefeated in one in 1978? (NHRA)

('Aero of a brick, but..........)

I wonder if Mark is driving it?

I was thinking the same thing!

'Wish someone could 'spy' a definitive photo of the area immediately fwd of the rear wheel wells from roof to rockers (to include the 1/4 windows). To me that area has long been a 'visual desert'.

Perhaps that area of the future Mustang will go from 'desert' to 'dessert'. :wink

...back in '79 I bought a Honda CBX (1047 c.c. inline 6-cyl, 6 carbs). 'Engine looked identical to this one. 'SOUNDED much the same as well, but it 'red lined' at 9K, not 20. I'm now wondering if it employed a flat plane. :shrug

The engines have share no design internals - trust me. You should have kept the CBX, collectors then and now, they were/are amazing. Sound was unmatched in the day (1978/9) if you upgraded to the requisite Honda factory race pipe (Yoshimura). So here is an engine sectioned out for you to see re: crankshaft @ 40 seconds of video.

'Sure would be nice to see.

'Kept it for 25 years almost to the exact day...then sold it (in 2004) for $7500. It looked like it did the day I bought it. It needed n-o-t-h-I-n-g.

I did put a different set of headers on it, but I'll be darned if I can remember the brand. I know they weren't Yoshis.
The bike sounded like a nest of VERY angry hornets.

Thanks for the link! 'Very kool.:wink

'Apologies for the thread drift...again...

Listen to the exhaust of the reputed GT350 around the 45 second mark. Sound a little flat-plane cranky to anyone? Awesome!

EP sold it because even back in the day, he didn't drive it.

Some interior pictures. Looks like the Mustang will get a 21st Century interior.

I see a 2015 Mustang in my oldest daughter's future.

Do you know this fellow? If you haven't met him already, you should!

Ford sure is doing a good job of keeping the new Mustang "under wraps". I just got back from the annual Ford dealer convention, held in Vegas this year. They didn't even show us a picture of one! They just referred to it as a "rumor" and said that they didn't have anything to show us. Adding to the hype/mystery...

It's time is coming. Watch for Ford to deliver the brown wrapping paper to cover your show room windows....

From the sounds of it, we might not even have any inventory, until after it's introduction in New York, April 17th...

Rex - Do you think that we'll see it at SEMA?

The rumor is some journalists will get a look at the car soon so they can prepare articles for publication at the time of the car's release. This is SOP. Although there will be an embargo, we can only hope some unscrupulous journalist will leak some pictures.

Based on the bits and pieces of information floating around, this seems to be the most credible rendering thus far. The fastback roofline and rear end profile are very nice.

No, I don't believe that would be consistent with their launch timing or strategy. That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see a teaser on the video screen at the Ford display.

Tough to do anything cool anymore given fed "safety" constraints. Huge front end. Big roof bump. Amazingly, still hanging on to styling cues that are 50 years old. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it's just the best you can do.

Yeah, unfortunately Car and Driver is just making incorrect shit up. :lol

Accuracy is intended but not guaranteed. lol

Surprising they are reporting the Trinity 5.8 will continue in the new car.

I'm going to miss the quarter windows. I thought they were the best visual cues on the car. Oh well, my disappointment will be assuaged by blistering performance.

There is a BUNCH of inaccurate shit in that article. I doubt C&D is that stupid, so it has to be purely trying to sell magazines by making stuff up.
