05/06 Power Steering Hose Deterioration

Owners of 05/06 GTs need to check the power steering return hose going into the bottom of the PS reservoir. It is the larger of the 2 hoses. If it feels greasy or just plain nasty, it is deteriorating. Rich Brooks of the GT Garage and I have changed some, but at this point Ford no longer services this hose. We estimate that most 05/06 GTs will need a replacement hose. While we have not seen any complete failures, it is reasonable to assume that may be an issue at some point. Now for the good news. Rich and I have secured replacement hoses. I will have 80 - 100 hoses at the upcoming Rally 13 in Scottsdale, and more will be available through Myself or Rich.

I would be down for a replacement hose! You selling them or installing?

Yeah ... I need the hose, and installation!

Great news! How do I get on a list to get one(not going to the Rally unfortunately).

Rich and I both will have them and will ship. We will also install them. Rich is a bit under the weather right now, but after the rally, we will post more details.

You installing at the rally?
Probably not.

If you are making a list, I would like to be on it for purchase

Thanks for the heads up!

I got one installed!
Works great!

I'll pick up my sample next week.

Thanks for the warning. I checked my 05 PS hoses and although dusty, there are no signs of stickiness or other deterioration. I'll surely keep a close watch on them, though. And I'll be watching for post-rally info on buying a replacement.

These pictures are from a 06 Gt with 1,250 miles. The top hose is from the car and the bottom hose is the new one Rich Brooks and I had made up. Look closely at how much the OEM hose is swelled up and distorted compared to the new one. You can't tell from the pictures but the OEM one feels greasy. If I was me, I'd be looking to buy a new one from me. Great sales pitch right?

For the non-handy types, where is this hose located where it can be seen?
