Tall GT Drivers - A Solution

Ever since I purchased my GT I have wanted to track the car. The one requirement that I could not meet was the fact that you have to wear a helmut while driving on a track. There are no exceptions to this rule, and being 6-3, 250 lbs, I searched for an answer. I didn't think that removing foam...

GOOD NEWS (LIFT & oil PRESSURE GAUGE) BAD NEWS OIL

I got this quote from RB Wholesale, 800 307-2144, and talked to Robert. Don't know this company but shipment probably comes from Bend Pak anyway. Gary

GOOD NEWS (LIFT & oil PRESSURE GAUGE) BAD NEWS OIL

BTW- ! am also buying a Bendpak HD-9. Did you go with the wide one? I too am going to order the Bendpak HD-9 lift. Checking around this seems to be the best of the American made lifts. It looks like the HD-9 is the 106" wide lift, and the HD-9ST is the 98" wide lift. Best price I have been...

Anyone have a chrome fire extinguisher mounted?

Yes, I believe Don has these brackets drilled and ready to go. I haven't been bit by the carbon fibre bug yet, but who knows. I'm still trying to figure out how to get my helmut and my head inside the GT. Being 6-3, 260, there is not much room. I think I have a solution that I will share next...

Anyone have a chrome fire extinguisher mounted?

This was probably a mockup bottle that I used to get the extinguisher mounted exactly in the right place. I just went out and checked, and the gauge reads full. I also see I should have cleaned my floor mats before taking the pictures. Live and learn.

Anyone have a chrome fire extinguisher mounted?

Here is the way that I have installed a fire extinguisher. Don Warren at Safecraft, and I devised a way to mount a Halon extinguisher in the GT without drilling any holes, and without interfering with the passenger seat. We used a Safecraft bracket and used the existing two screws that hold the...

Front tire options for the stock rim

Hi Dave, It was nice talking to you. I seem to spend a lot of time with Don Warren at Safecraft. We have come up with a good spot to mount a handheld extinguisher in the GT, and I have just built a seat frame to hold one of the racing seats that Safecraft sells. I'm 6-3 and about 260 so will not...

Front tire options for the stock rim

Grooving a race tire can't be good for it. I did it because I am running these tires all the time, and the local gestapo does not like to see slicks on a street car. Also found out that most of the ZOs and Vipers do the same thing if they use these tires on the street. After loosing control of...

Front tire options for the stock rim

STORMCAT This is a picture of my car. The tires were purchased at Roger Kraus Tire in Castro Valley, CA 510 582-5031, who also cut the treads in them. Total price for all four tires, with tread cuts and road force balanced was $1810.

    New Digs

I put in a 12 foot ceiling so that a lift can be used effectively. Which lift did you decide on. The wider the better is what I hear?

    New Digs

I knew it would come to this. Mr GT now has 1600 square feet of garage space to call home. I slightly expanded my existing garage. I will be installing a bunkbed (4 post lift), for Mr GT for when he has company come over. He's got a Plasma TV on the wall, only tuned to the Speed Channel, and...

    Fuel Injectors actuation patterns?

Hi Clinton, Per the Workshop Manual, "To provide smooth engine operation at idle, and at low engine load and RPM, one injector per cylinder is operating. As engine load and RPM increase, the PCM and FIIM also operate the second set of fuel injectors to provide adequate fuel to the engine". Gary T.

    Fire suppression group buy

Texas GT, Good idea on keeping the group buy simple. For your information here are my thoughts on coming up with a fire suppression system for my GT. After 30 years in the fire service, serving on a truck and engine company, and responding to hundreds of vehicle fires, I came to a few...

    harness installation

Try Safecraft in Concord, Ca 1800 400-2259 They make harnesses in their shop and could probably make any color. Their harnesses are the best I've seen. The fittings they use are trick, not just plated.

    Ford GT Fire system

Daniel, When I was at Shadowmans I looked at his setup, and I think he had the Ford cooler. There does look like there is room to fit the 3 lb bottle in the same spot I put mine. The bracket attachment may have to be a little different though.

    Ford GT Fire system

But Kendal, I did use button head, Allen stainless bolts to do the attachment. And I painted the bottle bracket to match your bracket. It looks like a perfect match. Besides, I saw the Ford transaxle cooler bracket, and I believe yours looks better, and it allows more room to mount a fire bottle.

Hi Bill The solid white arrow is towards the front of the car. The passenger window swith is towards the center of the car, making the drivers window switch towards the outside of the car. The lock picture, is towards the inside of the car. Hope this helps. Gary Tryhorn
