Just installed the Bendpak HD9 lift and it is a great buy for the $2600!!! Well built, made in the USA, 9000 LB capacity, adjustable width ramps, dual locks and simple installation (did it myself). I would highly recommend. Also, on a positive note we replaced the oil pressure sending unit to solve the fluxuating oil gauge and that was the correct fix. Thanks for the input on that one

On a more depressing note the oil leakage at the inlet tube is still there, anyone else having this problem? We replaced the tube at the last service, but it still leaks where the tube bolts to the oil pan. Could there be a machining problem with the pan? I also noticed oil again at the rear of the engine( the car is number 416 and built in 01/05), could this be one of the crankshaft cars? The dealer is telling me this is normal, but finding fresh oil after a 30 mile drive seems a bit much to me!!

John have the dealer but a UV agent in the oil... A blacklight will show where it is leaking from. I had the seal replaced on mine (late '05). These engines are hand built and some could hvae been a Monday engine.

BTW- ! am also buying a Bendpak HD-9. Did you go with the wide one?

I too am going to order the Bendpak HD-9 lift. Checking around this seems to be the best of the American made lifts. It looks like the HD-9 is the 106" wide lift, and the HD-9ST is the 98" wide lift. Best price I have been quoted is $2475 delivered, plus tax. Being in California, everyone tries to charge us tax. I also will be setting it up myself.

I have the wide one with 2 rj-45 rolling jacks. Highly recommended. I decided to pay an extra $500 for installation. With standard delivery you are responsibly for removing the 2000lbs package from a flatbed truck. I didn't want to tackle that. Once you have the package on the ground, 2 strong men shouldn't have any problems with the installation.

Bendpak doesn't have an HD-9 on their site....only the HD9-ST-B, HD9-B,HD9-STX-B, HD9-9XW-B..........so which is the one? .......standj where do you get yours?

Gary, where did you order yours from

Bend Pak is a top company with very nice people. Their main facility is only about 20 miles from me and I've been there a few times for will call :biggrin

I've had really good experience with Garage Equipment Supply which is one of the largest Bend Pak dealers.

I got this quote from RB Wholesale, 800 307-2144, and talked to Robert. Don't know this company but shipment probably comes from Bend Pak anyway.

Some of the early cars needed the Speedie Sleeve to correct a leak at the end crank seal. If you do a search you can find more info...

I ended up getting the HD9 B lift which is 106" between the posts and works fine for the FGT. I used a moving company to get if off the truck at the house ($98/hr for two guys )and installed it by myself. It is pretty easy if you have two jacks and a few jack stands!! I do have to use some wood on the ramps to get the front spoiler to clear, but it doesn't need more than a 1/2" pcs of plywood. Call Brian Lockhart at 1 (800) 229-6218 in the north east to order .

I bought the 9ST model and you have to cut the entrance brackets at an angle to clear the rear tires on the GT. I wanted the narrow footprint. I can easilly park my 67 GT Mustang or my FGT under it as well. If you have the room and dont want to modify the lift, get the regular 9. It is a great lift.:thumbsup

Well, to put an end to this post the oil leak has been corrected as of today!!!! The dealer installed a new pan, gasket and inlet tube and she is dry . I believe these parts add up to around $1500 bucks, but at least it wasn't the rear main seal. You have to love living in the Northeast and having to wait until the snow melt get have any repairs completed.

Happy driving
