Yep, it's a bitch. When we R&R'd mine for polishing it took forever. We didn't have to take the whole fender off, but we did have to lift it up. Problem is you just can't get a hand or tool in there behind the 3 screws to hold em. You can feel them, but you just can't get them off without all the trouble. Kind of reminds me of a few girls I knew in high school... oh well that's a different post, or maybe a different forum altogether (lifetime member of that forum too, or at least some kind of “member”). Anyway just like the girls, it was worth it for me.:cheers

The the current bid price, someone can get a just the lid manufactured for less money than that and sell them here or on ebay.

Of course there is the little problem of trademarks and it would not be a collectable.

This is the new more positive "half-shaft" post I guess. Lots of posts, can't wait for the technical metal analysis that must be coming from the experts! Will there be a failure rate on the spring for the hinge? I just hope it isn't made of kryptonite! I called my bank today to see if I could take out a second on my GT so I can bid on it!:rofl
