I don't own a GT and I can't afford the VIP package, but it would be nice to have some other Americans to hang out with.

With all the turmoil going on in various parts of Europe and many high positioned dignitaries in and around the various event venues, I expect security to be very TIGHT. As such I think it very, very unlikely there will be much opportunity to "share" any VIP package activities with non-package holders.

Unfortunate for many but event circumstances are what they are.....

For those that will be going to the race - I recommend to contact your cell service company & add a Euro plan for data & calls. There will be plenty of WiFi but not everywhere.

For texting & image transfers I recommend the free app Viber. Your contacts will need the app also.

Verizon is going to charge me $10 a day for access, then usual messaging and data after the $10. With the overall cost of this trip, another $70 ain't gonna break anything. I'm bracing the wallet for the merch I'm sure we are gonna buy.....

But viber did work well when you had me try it when you were overseas.

I was more aiming for just out around the track on race days. I'm not looking to get in on any of the VIP stuff you guys have paid for, but if you'll be walking around checking out different parts of the circuit, it'd be nice to tag along.
