Day 1 at Roar before the 24

Gotta love dials that go not only to 11 but to 12 !

(Most will not get this reference)

Thanks Nigel

Plus everyone sandbags at the Roar anyways. Can't really take much away from the lap times, but things seemed to run pretty smooth overall.

FWIW:

BMW M6 1:45.088
Corvette C7.R 1:45.106
Ford GT 1:45.248
Ferrari 488 1:45.266
Porsche 911 RSR 1:45.524

So on the basis of that information, I'm bettin' the farm on BMW to win. :-))

And how much did you pay for Powerball tickets?

Don't forget the sandbagging:

I'm thinking the GT has a lot not revealed. :eek

Umm, to be sure, that statement from me was tongue in cheek/sarcasm. Anytime an entire field of competitive cars is running 1:45 and pick your flavor of change, you have no data.

less than .40 of second for fastest 5. BOP at work.

But remember 24 hours is a long time. And that means the .40 is meaningless.

Go Blu!

Everyone sandbagging. And I expect everyone to sandbag the entire Rolex 24. Le Mans is a big prize this year for obvious reasons and nobody is gonna want to come out and drill the field and be toast in the pursuit of being victor or spoiler.

He's right... I know this because they asked me to drive the GT first shift...

I am serious though. I expect the (P) cars to race hard but GTLM will probably be a very leisurely stroll for many teams. Last year Corvette won Rolex and Sebring off the bat and by the end of the season they were complete and total uncompetitive cannon fodder for the 911 RSR. Porsche won 4 of the last 5 races after failing to get on the podium the first several races of the year.

It's lame, but it is what it is. The BoP era is not run-what-you-brung.

Win or not... it will be a blast to be there with the other GT owners and watch the inaugural flight of the Phoenix!

It is sad that the cars can't run flat out. This will indeed be a race to see who can mask their speed the best. But that is what they want, a competitive field. I double the GT will be pushed to win. As stated, the end game is lemans, no one wants a BOP adjustment.
