Ron, as you are aware the OE Ferodo pads Ford put on the GT are pretty good. See above comments.

What is your interest in going to a different pad. What objection do you have with the OE pad?:confused

Bill, my guess is that because they generate less brake dust.

OEM didnt survive my track use, nor did Mintex (Stillen supplied), nor did Padgid yellow, Only Padgid blacks made it through a day.

Geez, if that is your only compliant, then a much easier and less costly solution is to use ArmorAll Wheel Protectant. It has been recommended here on the Forum by others.

I tried it and it REALLY does work. At $6.97 for a 7oz aerosol can it is certainly cheaper and less work to apply than changing out brake pads.

You should really try this stuff before committing to a pad change-out.:biggrin

Indy, I've used ArmorAll for a few years and i feel its easier and cheaper to clean the wheels or change pads...:cheers One yer alone I spent like $40 on the stuff.... and the brake dust just keeps coming back!

I do use that product currently

Ron Try the Carbone Lorraine RC6 , great for track use , also try having the Rotors cryogenic treated. Doubles the life

I was also thinking about this, so I figured I would try them on my daily driver first. Installed Carbotech 1521 which are providing better brake feel than OEM with almost no dust. They are street pads, but are compatible with other Carbotech compounds for track use without changing or resurfacing rotors. I am planning to install them on my GT to replace Mintex pads currently on the car.

....................on a FGT?

Used mintex,I know Carbotech .I think Ill give Carbotech a call

Carbotech XP8 Is my call the best of braking and minimum dust. The 1521 are no brake dust ,but braking power is not as good as I would like
Talked to Mike convinced me XP8’S are the best compromise .

Yes

When I got my new Vette I could not put up with the massive brake dust. On the Stingray forum guys were raving about the reduction in brake dust when the replaced the pads with Carbotech 1520 pads. I changed to these pads and was amazed with the reduction of dust. I contacted the rep and ordered a set for my GT. Brake dust is reduced by 85-90 % honest.

Okay, just ordered the Carbotech 1521. So sick of the brake dust!!!

Got to agree with xrayman396 on the CL pads from Essex. They rattle and squeak a bit but less dust and superior controllable breaking and wear.
