The New Shelby GT350

No fun, you are on your game. ;- ))

The Honda S2000 engine was neat, but it felt like it had 25 ft/lbs of torque.

AMAZING shifter!! should be a benchmark for anyone making a manual (oh right they are dieing)....

Certainly the S2000 was not a torque monster when compared to GT500/FGT/etc. but the engine spooled fast and once in that power band it really came alive. It wasn't that hard to get the car sideways in 2nd or even 3rd gear, especially in wet conditions or while hard accelerating out of a corner. There's a reason they have a reputation for being unforgiving cars. The shifter was definitely amazing and that was a stock shifter which is almost hard to believe these days.

While I am definitely not in the know, I really believe this 5.2 engine in the GT350 will be able to hit 110bhp per liter if not more. Once again, I think Ford will underrate this engine from the factory. I can't wait to have one.

I have kids, and friends like you, I have to be....

I received an email from Ford Vehicles yesterday and in it they said the new GT350 won't be available until "late 2015". No further details on hp, torque or price.

^^^ Predicting future legends is an odd business. Generally, the predictor is dead before being proven right or wrong.

That said, let me know when you are ready to order one. We'll order two.

You got it.

Order banks should be up in May, going to see if I can get a 350R. Would really like to be able to get the liquid blue color.

Does anyone have any idea of price on the 350 or the R??

Liquid blue will not be available, show color only. Too elaborate a paint process was what I had heard.

Would really like to be able to get the liquid blue color.

Not released yet

A source that is apparently not credible on this forum has said $53,000 base on the 350, and around $70,000 for the "R" version. This is mere speculation at this point, so take it for what it's worth.

Gene certainly knows what he is talking about.

Trust him....

The car will be something special, thanks in part to his input into the program.

HPKings literally just makes stuff up.

That said, those are not terribly far off from the actual retail pricing.

Everyone will be pleased with the prices.

Saw the new GT350 and the "R' version at Barrett-Jackson in Palm Beach today, but not a new FGT anywhere to be seen. Two 2006's up for auction tomorrow. One is a Heritage with 2,400 miles and the other is a red/white stripe 19 mile car.

I'll probably head over there tomorrow.

Massive tires. Front tires bigger than those on the rear of Ford's previous generation 662hp missile.

More pix here. For me being a no stripe kinda guy, I actually miss the GT350 side stripe.
