In fact, truth be told, I much prefer its looks to that of the present GTs.)

...someone "in the know" mentioned that members of the old design team were working on a new vehicle that you would buy without an engine and then get Jack Roush to supply and install it, thus getting around all the safety/emissions constraints etc. Don't know how mature this idea is....

As I recall, the SBC is about an inch shorter in length (w/short water pump), and a couple inches lower in height than the 351W. I think they're both about 22" wide??? Sometimes that makes all the diff...
EP, you are correct: When I was building my MG Midget hot rod I squeezed in a 383 SBC (just) but there was no way the SBF would go in. Also, cheapest horsepower you can get is SBC - 501 dynoed HP for $4200 using all-new parts, try doing that with a Ford!
