2013 Ford GT Dupont Registry?

Still ain't right.

You guys know that a 302 is an inch shorter and much narrower than a 351W and can be kicked out to 347 inches pretty easy right?

If you are using factory parts, the level of quality in the castings and machine work is definitely in Ford's favor. I have spent over 20 years being the only damn ford product (Mostly Big Blocks) in the machine shop comparing apples to apples. The Ford alloys are much tougher and thus harder to machine BUT you don't have to fix all the sloppy production problems which makes up for it. Not even going to mention all the extra webbing and buttressing in the Fords.

Horsepower is a math equation so no argument about horsepower. It is about airflow, compression, ignition etc which knows no brand affiliation.

You guys remind me of the local circle track circuit up here. All SBC and ONE Ford. Cast Iron heads, no porting etc. Yep that Ford came out the turns and left everyone behind every weekend. Of course as usual in racing. They kept rewriting the rules over and over to try to eliminate his Power and reliability advantage.

Last Note. I wonder why All current NASCAR engines are for all intents and purposes a 351 Cleavor? Putting the distributor in the back doesn't change that.

Yeah, but try to convince a concrete, hardcore Ford guy like '12 that that's actually the case! :rofl

I believe it was a hardcore Ford guy who once opined: "You can shoehorn a SBF into anything if you have a big enough hammer...and a Sawzall...and a cuttin' torch...and a bit of square tubing...and a modded/relocated radiator...and sheet metal tools...and............." :rofl

(Sorry, '12! I'll shuddup now!)

I prefer Ford Powerplants but I would sure like to have a 66' Vette with a CHEVROLET engine in it.

I just get worked up over Chevy motors in Ford cars. It ain't right and it ain't necessary.

But, if one wants 350 cubes to start with...with the option for 427 sooner or later...:wink :biggrin

I'm getting the impression you're not approaching this in the same light hearted fashion we are, '12! :lol

Different strokes, '12...different strokes. That's what makes the world go 'round...

Yeah, maybe not. I will take a pill now. :wink You got me :usa

Just my 2 cents -

I'd rather see a '32 Deuce with a Ford flathead in it than all the SBC's that others stick in.

I like the flatheads with (1) Offenhauser heads, (2) Edelbrock intake with 3 Stromberg 97 juggs, and (3) either an Iskederian, Crower or Clay Smith cam. I could go on....

That'd be my 2nd choice! (Isky cam for me though.)

Ralphie, That is a great compromise. Ford V-8 and from the era.

Oh, and it fits just fine. :biggrin

Pockets, it would be my second choice too, behind a 347ci Small Ford.

Ralphie, I'm with you Bud.

Almost there, but you really need Ardun heads. I totally agree with the Ford in Ford rule with one exception - a blown early Hemi is good in any make!
