Found this interesting PDF file on the 2005-06 Ford GT from ALuminum Extrusion. This is the frame construction technique using liquid aluminum used to create the FGT aluminum frame.

you can download it by hitting the save button on the pdf file tool bar.

Great article, Eric. Thanks for posting!

I would just like to point out that a RED car is shown 17 times in the article, WAY more than any other color.

That's because Red is the color of choice.

Frank, Frank, Frank....
The red car count you cite are not production GT's so they do not count. The shots of the red car are all prototype, proof-of-concept vehicles. Note the amber turn signal area in the lower headlight assembly which is not stock. Ford probably (or maybe it was Kip himself) probably had some left over red paint from a previous project and rather than waste the paint, threw it on one of the workhorse cars for a photo-op.
Now the tungsten GT shown on page 5 is the real deal!

I think Dr. F. needs an opthalmoligical consult, or some way chemically to temporarily turn off his red cones???

If you wear red boxers like Midnite Blu wears blue ones, then its time to hang it up, pal!

Ralphie, you know Dr F, does he need some guidance?

We went all through this red obssession stuff a few weeks ago. The article is from the original production time of the FGT. Probably they only had contact with a red one. I did notice the nice Tungsten GT prominently displayed in the article!

I think most of the Red GT images on the pdf file are the same image repeated time and time again. Anyway, we know what it takes to be red!

I think I saw that red car at Shelby's museum in Vegas. 4.6 Terminator powered and didn't look very nice up close, you know, like all of the other red ones.

Zingggggggggg!!!!!!

Ouch!

Very cool. Thank you ever-so-much!
