As some of you know my car ran perfectly until the roll races on Sunday. I had been dropping the clutch at 5500k rpm and doing burnouts on the sticky dry pavement with my Hoosier R6's all weekend. Well, it was show time for the roll races and the camera crew that was filming it asked for a good burnout for the camera. Who was I to argue? 5k rpm and let' er rip. Bango! axle let go. Weekend was over. Better it happen then instead of at some time during a run.
John Hennesseys crew has been working on my car for a couple of days and it is very likely going to be back together tomorrow night (3 days after they got it at their shop) so I can run a 1/4 event at his track that I am sponsoring. Big props to John's crew!
Here is a couple of pics of the carnage and a shot or two of the transmission internals. Love the last pic....that's Kevin the shop Manager at John's.
