Has anyone actually weighed a stock GT? Just wondering what it comes in at.

Several of us have, here was a post of mine a a bit ago

http://fordgtforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3476&highlight=corner+weights

Attached are two Ford PDF files on the Ford GT. The first, on page 21, lists the curb weight at 3,350 lbs. The second attachment lists the weight distribution, on the 2nd page, at Front/Rear = 43%/57%.

If you don't already have these documents, you may wish to save them on your computer for your GT Document Library.

Thanks. What are the options on the car wheels and radio? I don't think the stripes change the weight by much.

Thanks for the pdfs Ralphie. BTW, does anyone know the difference in weight for the car with and w/o the Mac? Also, how much less do the optional wheels weight than the standards?

2005 #1467 has all four options. BBS Wheels and McIntosh.

damn they are heavier than i thought

It has been stated (not reported) that the Mac system weighs in at about 80lbs (head, amp, sub, tweeters). There has never been an exact measurement made to date. The Mac website does not list any values either.

The wheels have a 7 lb difference per wheel.

no way 80#!

Radio 2# (in my hand now)
Amp ~ 5#, 6# w Bracket (in my hand now)
Speaker ~ 3#?
Console w Speaker cover 2-3# over the stock pocketed non mac one...
Tweeters, croosover's and cable what 5#?

TOPS 20#?

Subwoofer with amp is easily 20#s

Subwoofer with amp is easily 20#s

I don't have the Sub in hand but can't be 10#'s - is it?

Even then total of 30# - still no way 80#

Shadowman will know sub weight......Bill?

Ya, 80# does seem a little excessive. Thirty, maybe 40# with all the subwoofer housing and the other speakers.

The savings are modest

The wiring harnesses are the same in both versions

The leather pieces are nearly the same weight so in the end you have 2 tweeters, a subwoofer and associated enclosure along with the amp.

I have one out of a gal at this moment and if the combined weight of the subwoofer, the enclosure, and the amp is greater than 12 lbs I would be surprised then add to this the tweeters and I would say that 15 lbs would be a good number to share.

Takes care

No way there is 7lb difference. I've weighed mine and I think the front 5 spokes are the same as the optional wheels with the rear about 2.5 lbs less than the standard wheels.

Please go back through old posts with exact measurements.

weight of fluids

Maybe Shadowman (or Black Ice) can answer this one. Isn't the total weight of fluids (coolants & oil but not fuel) around 125 lbs?

Also, I have looked at the suspension, frame, etc of the Z06 & know why the car costs & weighs so little - cheap, flimsy & chintzy.
