i raced my year 2001 Honda CBR-929 last night at my local drag strip. i have a 40 shot of nitrous and it dyno'd 169 rwhp and 93 rwtq. my best time last night was a 10.69 @ 138.8 mph. the corrected density altitude on that run was 5500 feet above sea level. i weighed the bike after the run and it weighed 408 lbs with 1 gallon of gas in the tank (i race with the muffler and the mirrors off). i weighed 230 lbs with my gear on. my sixty foot time was a rather slow 1.88 seconds. i only use the nitrous in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears only. i believe that with a sea level density altitude this time would have corrected to a 9.99 @ 144 mph. as you can from these pix i have a + 4" extended swingarm and have lowered the bike about 1" or so :cool

aint that the truth! i have had a few wrecks racing moto-x back in the day and let me tell you every time i throw my leg over that bike on that strip i am reminded of the close calls that i have had on that track......

at my age these days i get my inspiration from watching bull riders ride a 2,000 pound bucking machine in the PBR for 8 seconds :bow lol, at this point in my life my goal is to someday build a blown alcohol bad boy altered that runs 8 seconds flat in the 1/4 :cool

That is sick to go that fast on a two wheels. Drove a Katana 750 cross country and hit 120 going through the Arizona desert once and that was enough. I'll take my speed with four wheels and some metal wrapped around me thank you very much!!

Congrats on the run. :cheers

There is NO WAY you'll ever see Gutless Pockets going that rapido on a crotch rocket! If I'm gunna be goin' that quick/fast, I wanna roll cage and FOUR WHEELS!!!!!!!! :ack:ack:ack:willy:willy:willy:willy:willy :cheers

(An' pbly a parachute to boot! :lol)

I suspect you drive you motorcycles the same way you drive your cars, right? From the transport into the garage, where it will stay until it is sold.

:lol

Well I am only a little bit older than you at 47, but I used to race bikes alot although I can't ride as good now as I could at 37(smaller balls). I can still sqeeze a high 9 out occasionally at about 145 out of the ZX but mostly 10 ohs, if I could still ride like I used to it would be in the 9.5 range but I can't get it out of the hole with the stock swing arm. (wheely prone) Maybe my buddies are right? I am too old!

I prepared to give both Freddy and Jamie, THE GT FORUM GIANT GOLD PLATED BALLS AWARD. Both you guys are driver's drivers! :)

Well my wife would never get on the back of any of my bikes including my Harleys, even though I would behave with her on the back. She got into an accident with a boyfriend when she was 17 and scraped her leg up a little bit, but it branded her mind for life so riding on the bike is a no no. I take my small son on the back of the Harley as he likes to ride but no one goes on the ZX but me as I think it could be a dangerous proposition and I don't want to take any chances. You probably ride better than me because I am not doing any wheelies anymore and if you enjoy them your balls are still plump, as you get older and wiser I think you might give up the wheelies but enjoy them while you can!
