anyone out there do this? I think It looks awsome on the KR so why not a GT? I was in a market for a long time to find a black no stripe car, and towards the end of my search right before I was about to give up and buy a black silver stripe I found my stripe delete car. If I hadnt found my stripe delete car, I would have painted the stripes flat black on a black silver car. Now that some time has past Im starting to think what if. Of course I should say IMHO this would only look good on a black car, or silver,

I was thinking the same thing. HHGT suggested to me (he's so smart :biggrin) that I try the vinyl stripe route first.

I think it would look awesome. If you want it done I can hook you up with the KR stripe guys. They are based out of LA.

No, I wasnt thinking of doing it, that route was going to be my way out of a silver stripe car, my first choice has always been a stripe delete car, I just wana see a GT with flat black stripes:biggrin

If you find the right person, it can be done in vinyl and will look awesome and best thing is its totally reversable!!! Now, finding that right person.........

I am going to do it on my X1 that's still in GB once its out of there. But I was going the Super Snake route.

Ok Torrie I nominate you to do it on your car,:biggrin

popped the cherry on my car long ago! its not stock anymore, Im not a huge fan of modefying the outside of the car, but I cant help to think at some point the cf hood and side scoops will make it onto my car, I love the way the hood looks on bonys car especially with the centers unpainted I would do that before the flat black stripes

I have also thought about it on my black and silver car (I also wanted a stripe delete and gave up and bought a 19 mile stripe car figuring that would be the best condition i would find)and the hardest part would be the hood and painting an extra set of clamshell grills flat black. There is one around somewhere......Bently of Long Island had one about a year and a half ago but I never looked close enough to see if they were painted or vinyl.

The guys at AutoTrim Design make some nice stripe kits..

I think it would look awesome.

+1

Who did your side stripe?

Doing the tape is a pretty straight forward job on the plotter. Now applying it .... thats a totally nother story. We did two racing stripes on my Lotus ... its a LOT harder than it seems it would be to bend in all those complex angles and get a straight line. even then the pattern has to be PERFECT.

just my 2 cents.

But I do think it would look KILLER. :thumbsup:thumbsup

Have a spare silver/black stripe FGT. If interested PM me. Thanks Jim

Herb,
I came up with the idea for the new side stripe font and Autotrim Design made it happen . They now sell the side stripe kit and they gave me a honorable mention..
They make a nice top stripe kit and side stripes so I would look here before reinventing the wheel..
