HA!

Rock and roll Silverbullitt. I've looked everywhere for that thing and couldn't find it yet.

Game over. Peak's car plus a set of twins = ultimate street car for high speed.

Now I know what to get the guy that has everything. A sub to C&D. I have been reading it since Yates modded a 1970 Dodge for the real cannonball.

Peak's car beat down all comers. The Heffner Lambo and Hennesy Viper could not pull it off. My only regret is Joe's lil red toy wasn't involved. What a shootout.

Also this all around car stuff was kindof decided at the Dearborn Test Track in August of 06. Joes TT car kicked a$$.

I guess you scored a copy.

They should do a TT shootout with Heffner, McPhail, Hennessey and soon to come ART(Cody) . They should limit the mods to pump gas like the C&D test.

Rally III would be the perfect spot for this since we will all be together.

As far as mags go, nobody will ever care about a GT again. If it's not out currently, they don't care. Boo on that front, but at least the GT went out by drilling the competition.

I'd be bummed if I dropped $288k making my Vette as fast as I could make it just for this exact test, and in the end, after I broke and came back weeks later, I still couldn't top a GT with some twins on it. :biggrin

I wish they would have recorded the popping sound the vette made as the expensive trick rotors cracked one at a time.

Forget the $288K vette. They should post numbers for the Veyron and the Enzo to compare to the TTGT.

I also think they took a lot of wind out of the sails of the ZR1 in that issue. You think you are reading about the pinnacle of automotive engineering until you turn a few more pages. I can't wait till someone mods the ZR1. I say bring it. I hope it holds together for more than one run. The Feb 08 Car and Driver is probably their best issue ever.

With gas prices where they are and more greenines surfacing every day I feel that we may be close to the end of the musclecar era again.

Maybe Ford will prove me wrong someday and build the GR-1.

Yeah, typically they don't update the website nearly as fast as the issue comes out. They took lots of video while we were up there though, so there should be a big feature on it.

Just catching up on the forum and saw this thread.

I guess the answer to your question on why to TT is in the article :biggrin

The car is awesome in every way. The power is smooth and it daily drives as good as stock.. even handles the heat here in Texas a little better with the twins over the blower...

can't wait for the vids :banana

Great to see our beloved Gt kick butt and get a last breath of current media .
The next time we see our Gt's in a mag it will probably be in some classic /collector or vintage mag . Till than I 'll just keep reading over old car mag issues from 2003-2006 !

I wouldn't write off the GT from other magazine competitions just yet. When the Lingenfelter ZR-1 won the original 0-150-0 competition in the August 1998 issue, the newest ZR-1's were already 3 years old. And it won nearly as convincingly as Jason's car did this time around.

I suspect we'll see another feature or three on a GT before all is said and done.

At this moment I'am just thinkinging about it , but I'am sure that before you know it I will probably do it.
Whom would you recommend to do a TT on you'r FGT and why...

(3.90s & Twin Turbo > Just thinking about !!) :eek

Merry Christmas

I've noticed that you are also interested in the 3.9. I would recommed doing the 3.9 before doing the turbo kit. It is going to be much easier to install the 3.9 without the turbos there. Every turbo kit that I have seen so far would require complete disassembly of the turbo kit in order to get out the transaxle. Which means it takes longer to do the R&R and is more expensive due to the extended labor.
