Whipple Gen 2

Dustin, I'm convinced - sign me up. :thumbsup I'm airing my FGT to Kendall in May prior to the Le Mans trip. Please set aside a Gen 2 for me. I suppose we'll (at least Bony & I, maybe others?) land on the Continent with the first Gen 2s.

I can hardly wait! :banana:banana

Glad to hear, you'll love it. We should trade a Hawaii vacation :banana

Very, very soon, and I'm pretty confident it will leave here with 800RWHP on 91 octane gas. Got 2 more tricks in my bag :banana

Dustin

shhhhhhhhhh....
sand bag is the word:huge::huge::huge:

...And you gave me grief about FONT???

Yeah, Hawaii, baby! :party

My understanding is that the case is the same, but the internal rotors are new. They displace more air per revolution, thus give more boost at any given RPM. Maybe Dustin can chime it here and tell us the more about the specs. I would like to know how much more displacement, the abiatic efficiency vs. the old rotors and the cost to retro fit them into a Gen 1 case.

FYI

I chatted with Michael at Whipple and he shared that both the rotors and the case are different which is why the process of upgrading remains up in the air.

All the best

Well maybe things have changed since I read this post from Dustin. Although my memory is not as good as it was 10 years ago, I didn't think I imagined it.

A rotor assembly can be retro fitted. Same housing.

Official release is approx. 6 weeks, but there will be a few beta testers out there before that.

Thanks,
Dustin

Michael shared that it is expected to happen however I asked several different ways and each time he stated that the case is machined different and as I recall the new rotors use different bearings yadayada

This is all that I know

Want blue.

Dustin,

Can you make one in the exact same wrinkle blue finish that's on our valve covers??

It can be done in the future, but currently, it's not available because of the housing change, therefore, its a new SC.

Thanks,
Dustin

Chip,

Working on it as we speak, I think it's possible.

Case has changed, but we have plenty of cases, just not enough rotors. So we'll have to make rotors with different rear shaft design. We'll have some, but it takes time. The rear bearing design is different, same bearing, but different bearing. This was changed for marine applications, but we change everything so we don't have many different versions.

Thanks,
Dustin

I'm on Oahu but we have resorts and hotels on all of the major islands. :thumbsup
