what would you pay for a 06 gt with 51k miles

A modern vehicle these days with 55K miles is still a 'teenager"...why are we all discounting our GT's value because of the miles? Unless it was abused.

From my stand point as a guy that has purchased and sold OVER 30 Ford GT's, I think it would be hard to get over $100k. Not that I am saying it will not bring that as I have heard of stranger things before, BUT, I recently watched a 12k mile car (the Yellow one that was on ebay 2 or 3 times) bring $135k and it took the guy a while for it to bring that number . Considering 50k is 4 times that amount, My guess is it would bring $100k at best. Also, another good question to consider, what COLOR is this car?? If its RED, I would say less than 100k, If it BLACK, YELLOW or BLUE, then maybe 100k. This is my best educated guess.

$75k?

Wow. I'm a new owner, of a low mileage car. But if I could get a fundamentally sound car, save road rash and service needs, it would be off to GTX-ville in a flash. Happily replace the Carrera Cab.
Ahh, fresh air!
No brainer. Sadly, my wife would agree - sort of... :)

let me know if you don't buy it!

Adam,

I honestly think it should be around $110-$120K depending on condition. If you can get it anywhere near the 60's, it would be a no brainer. You're only talking about $5K of service total with the clutch. If you get it, swing by my house.:biggrin

Kelly blue book has a formula for the miles. So it would be market less KBB deduct for miles then cost of repairs and probably a couple of $k for the displeasure of having to do the work or have it done.

KBB has it at 137K less repairs. So I would say fair market on an unrepaired car is 125-135 .... I guess.

my two cents

Steve

I agree.

track car

Mousecatcher - Don't tell me: a dedicated track GT! Full roll cage, all mods, sub 2:00 T-hill times. Stickers all over!

I'm right.

What would you pay for a 06 gt with 51k miles?

$75,000 is what I would pay. I like new cars, or as new a car as I can get and it would take a hell of a deal to get me to buy a 51,000 mile GT. This thread has morphed into what do you think this car will bring, as opposed to what would you pay for it, which is a completely different question. As I enjoy reading and participating in theoretical threads, I'll jump into part two as well. I think the car would bring $100,000 less the estimated cost of repairs, assuming the car was cosmetically sound inside and out. Add $10,000 if it's yellow!! :banana:banana:banana Just like my dancing bananas! What would you pay? There is no wrong answer, only your answer, which is by definition correct.

Give me the 51k mile GT and $80k and you can have my pristine 05 Quicksilver.

I guess around $100-110k is the "right" price.

Yes. Quite. Red is Right. We've already discussed this one to death - it's faster, more beautiful and yadda yadda yadda. Look, Gierkinky can't be wrong. He's from Boston and his wife said he knows everything.

:lol

I must say I'm amazed that anyone would discount a 50,000 mile FGT by 40% or so... As mentioned earlier, wrecks achieve more cash, so that can't be right. Whilst not many here are not hugely bothered about the price/cost of our GT's (as we don't want to sell), we do, I think, want the reassurance that the rest of the world treasures our cars as much as we do!

A new GT in the UK is still fetching $250,000 - $300,000, so I guess we're not a good measure of market values. However, the GT must ultimately stabalize in the US, maybe $120k - and then it will start to gently rise.

Though some would argue the point, it appears the "gentle rise" has already started over here, Neilda!:biggrin

Who knows?:shrug

Knock, Knock - who's there? :confused

$$$ If IF IF If

Big if - but ===if I could pay less than 100k.

Then off to green bay for top removal.

Then to the race shop for track prep.

Then off to play I go!

do you know how much the Damon Hill's car went for? I think it had something close to 25-27k miles.... we could gauge it vs the other UK GTs and have a better sense of the depreciation by mile....

C'mon guys...you could take the car apart, clean up the parts and sell them for more than that on Ebay... based upon what the stuff has been bringing.

I'll jump in here, not hit , hit , beat up , blown up, guess what.. THESE CARS ARE NOT GOING DOWN!!!!!!!!!! All of us that were lucky to buy them new whether at 225 or 160 guess what, its a great deal, cause its the REAL DEAL!!:thumbsup Ive seen ins. claim jobs bid to 120 grand, cars so bad they dont look like gt's get 100 grand. Believe me ive been looking but if you find a low mileage gt now in the 150 to 165 range and its prestine. ITS THE ONLY WAY TO GO. i THOUGHT BY NOW THESE CARS WOULD HAVE BEEN AROUND THE 75 TO 90 ZONE, but unlike viper and vette, THEY DONT MAKE THEM ANYMORE. Wind up is bottom fishing isnt happening here, the supply is just to low. Hope all gets to ride this car once in there life time, but the odds are getting tighter and tighter.. ENJOY GTJOEY 1314 WHO BOUGHT AT A STEAL 167,000 SEPT. 05 . A STEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRAND NEW , PAPERWORK AND ALL...:thumbsup

Yeah. Thats :bs. Why knock red GTs? Its the color featured in "Its the one" commercial, the color featured prominently in GT promotions and is the color used in the ads showing the car as the pace car for the entire company, its the color in the Ford Museum and Jay Leno's car is even red! Reds hot!!!! Gorgeous!!! Sexy!!! beautiful compliments the car terrificaly, shows its awesome lines ....and red has history in the GT going back to the Hawkins privateer GT40 (one of the most famous privateer cars) the LeMans Gurney GT40 and the famous Flipinetti team GT40s and is named after the MarkIV (MarkIV red).

Red rocks!!!!

Off with his head, tar and feather him and then I say ban him!!!!:mad

GTJoey is right. There is "something" about the GT that many exotic cars don't have. It has that intangible "something" that I think will make it truly highly desirable and sought after in years to come, in any color. We are lucky to have one (or in some cases really lucky to have 2, 3 or more). It is a special car that will make it self more evident as the years pass.

I agree with Steve, give or take $10K or so.
