PS - On a lighter note, the local police in my small community occasionally pull up next to me and, with their passenger window down, look over and ask "Pinks?" My answer is always -"What would I do with a Police car?"

Going for pinks is a race where the winner ends up with the loosers car. The pink slip is title / registration.

Moreover, in many jurisdictions the police and AG offices have very strict guidelines on police pursuit and forbid police from high speed pursuit except in very limited circumstances.

Better to pull over, 25 years ago I ran from the PD ( lost them easy)and hit a tree due to the home owners not wanting a speed lap down their street. They pulled out chairs and tables to block the street. I went around and got personal with a large oak tree. My mint 70 Boss 429 was trashed.

Now they keep the car and it's a feloney
