Updates on your 2005-2006 Ford GT, What have you done lately?

Rich Brooks of GT guy LLC did my center console and double din surround. On the storage bin you could ask him.
Thank you :)

Drove in with my friend David and his Superformance 427 Roush Ford GT40 and my Black Stripe Delete 2006 FGT to the Petersen All American Cruise in last Sunday. Also had the chance to check out the museum displays too, including the impressive Ken Block tribute display.

Dan Gurney All American Racers Eagle on display. And many of Ken Block's legendary films running on loop to enjoy.

Yes, Twturbo, the Vault (basement) is definitely a fun tour, I have done it a couple times in the past, and there is always a few surprises down there.

I think the Petersen Museum does a very nice job with their facilities and curation of exhibits.

And hey, even their store has some thoughtful choices for the enthusiast. Neat to see the 2021 Ken Miles #98 Heritage scale model NFGT for sale at the roof top show.

The shifter is one of the VERY few mods I have done. It is EXCELLENT. Had it in the car so long, kinda forgot.

Yea i'm really looking forward to the shorter throw, but will it still be the same ole have to smack then shift knob upside the head to get it into reverse still ?

I put in 1st, then second, then reverse. Makes it a lot easier in my car.

Yes, it will still do that. GT Guys recommended using the brass bushings. Reverse is worse during the winter. But like Specracer, mine has been in 19 years and I don't remember what the original is like.

The car should have come with the short throw but like the mustang ford had to leave some stuff for ford racing parts

Yes very much so, and might even be a touch worse due to the reduced leverage of the shorter throw. I find sometimes Ill even use 2 hands, eliminating the "smack", for a smoother harder pull to the side. Overall shifting does not suffer, and is still wonderfully smooth, especially for a cable operated system. We have a 2010 GT3RS and it shifts no where as well as the GT
