You were fortunate that was the case!
Back in 2006, the marketing director for our largest local casino asked me to bring my GT to their annual car show...so I did. 'Turned out he had a 'podium'-status (sic), prominent parking spot reserved for the car to act as a 'draw' for 'J.Q. Public'.
Show entrants were supposed to be limited to 1970-and-older cars...and man did I hear about my GT being there...as well as where it had been parked.
One of theeeee biggest bellyachers was our county executive. He along with one of the ladies who had her car entered in the show made it a point to come over and give me an earful. When they both ran out of wind, I explained all the above, 'pointed out said marketing director to them and suggested they go over and voice their complaints to him.
To the lady's credit, she returned a short time later and apologized for her behavior...but...surprise, surprise...the county exec didn't.
'Unbelievable...
