Having admired the FGT for quite some time, I finally made the decision to buy one. I bought the white no stripe car from BJ. As my 66 Shelby GT350 is also an original no stripe car I thought they would make a great pair in the garage.

Funny thing though was that right after the purchase I got bad case of buyers remorse, suddenly thinking that maybe I should have chosen another color, other options etc.
Probably all because this is the most expensive car I have ever bought, and one that probably never will be fully registrered in Denmark because of the crazy taxation laws (probably another $300K just for the licenseplates).

Thanks to Bernie@BJ Motors for making it happen. It has been a very positive buying experience :cheers

If I can get insurance for the week around Rally III I´ll be attending in the car :biggrin Maybe I should start modding the car while in LV if I could just find those GT guys .... I would like to get that transcooler, pulley and a tune.

See you in Vegas:cheers
Anders

I was lucky enough to acquire my second Bugatti from one of your countrymen in Copenhagen, all because of your stiff taxation rate...my good fortune, his loss. Subsequently, he divorced the wife that wouldn't leave Denmark, moved to the south of France and found a 20-year-younger long blonde. Everything does work out for the better.
Congratulations on your "stripe-delete" FGT, although you might have chosen BLACK, stripe-delete, of course...the contrast would have been spectacular next to the white '66 'Stang.
Post some pictures of the duo together, please!
Best,
Paul Eddy

feels good to get your mojo hey! Bin waiting since I was about ten years old to get a forty. Blue blood you know:

Bernie is a class act. Congrats.

congrats again,
welcome to the owners circle
and.... thanks for becoming a MARK IV MEMBER!

After 2.75 yr's of thhe FGT I still can't get the "GT Grin" off my face! Trust me - there will be NO remorse!

Problem is we'll be sending you upgrades forever from here!

Get ahold of Neilda and other like 911 TEO for the Euro connections!

Congrats!

Congratulations Anders. Looking forward to meeting you at the Rally.

Welcome and enjoy:thumbsup

congrats on your purchase, as mentioned before you will not regret or have any remorse once you see the car and drive it in person.:thumbsup

Some guys have all the luck... :lol

Congratulations on the GT - looking forward to seeing the two cars together.. :cheers

Anders is a true gentleman and I am looking forward to meeting you at the Rally. You have purchased a beautiful car. I really hope you can get the insurance concern resolved. You have sometime and might want to see if GT Guys, or Shadowman can take delivery of the car to get your mods completed and then shipped to Phoenix or Vegas. Enjoy her she's a beaut!

Congrats....don't worry, there is no such thing as a bad color and you can always add whatever options you want! You should post a pic of the two cars together.... :cheers

Thank you for the warm welcome. We are really looking forward to the Rally in Las Vegas:cheers

The 66 Shelby is actually also still in the US where it is being restored by the nice folks @ Cobra Automotive in CT. This is car number 006, one of the first 252 produced for 1966 called the "continuation cars" that were actually produced on 1965 Mustangs so the dealers would have `66 cars in stock for the release of the new model around august/september 05. These continuation cars have the performance modifications of the 1965 GT350s and the updated looks of the 1966. This particular car is one of only a few 1966 GT350´s with Le Mans stripe delete and rear seat delete.

If all goes well, the car should be back in Denmark around the same time as the FGT. Until then, I´m working hard on getting the new garage built at our new home we will move to in November.

Here´s a picture of SFM6S006 before the restoration.

:)

I have just made a tough decision which is going to make the Rally a bit less fun than planned.

The transportation of the car to LV, insurance problems, luggage problems and a longer transport back to Denmark has made me chose what I suppose is the sensible solution. I´m shipping the car home directly from BJ, or maybe after a short trip to a mod shop, and we will be renting another car for the Rally instead. The 5-7 K extra cost of the transport round trip would be better spent on mods instead :)

Apparently none of the exotic car rentalplaces in Vegas has a FGT so hopefully we will be lucky enough to get a trip riding shotgun with one of you guys :)

The good part is that I will have the GT home in Denmark soon enough to enjoy the last part of the summer:willy
