Gentlemen,
While our rally officially begins in College Station on Wednesday morning, October 14, most of us will be arriving in Austin and checking in at the Four Seasons on Tuesday, October 13. This appears to be more convenient for members arriving from points west than checking into two different hotels and, for those members trailering their cars, loading and unloading your trailer twice. The drive from Austin to College Station takes one hour and 45 minutes so we will depart from the Four Seasons at 7 a.m. on Wednesday morning for College Station.
As such, I have put together a dinner at one of Austin's finest restaurants, "Truluck's", at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13. The restaurant is within walking distance of our rally headquarters hotel. Our fearless leader, David Bannister, will be joining us along with Mark McGowan and other build team members. As this is not an official Rally IV function, the evenings group tab for dinner and cocktails will be divided by the number of participants and all members must pay an equal amount in cash at the conclusion of your meal. So everybody must show up with a quantity of $20 bills as only cash will be accepted and nobody will be provided with a separate check. This system has worked well at countless dinners and functions that I have arranged for GT Forum members in the past. We will have room for about 60 participants. Post up here if you would like to join us, and let me know how many are in your party. I'll keep a running list of participants as this thread progresses.
