Now that the 2007 rally dates (August 1-5) and location (So California) have been posted has anyone started an effort to line up a transporter to ship the eastern cars out to the western coast? Economies of scale if we can fill a truckload out. Any ideas?
Bill

I am east coast but thinking about driving. Maybe ship it back. Do we have any more info on the event, still trying to plan my summer.

Storage before and after the Rally.....

If anyone ships their GT and needs secure storage, I can talk to a buddy of mine that owns a storage facility approximately 35 minutes from the rally location. Each garage can hold 4 GTs and if there is enough people interested, I'll try to get some reasonable prices, may be even at no cost.... The place is like fort Knox with camera access over the internet....

Did I miss the announcement of the location? Got the dates, but not the location......

2007 Transportation

I was just going by DBK's statement (post #32) on the below thread

http://www.fordgtforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3840&page=4

that it will be somewhere in Southern California. That should be close enough to start the transportaion ball rolling. Thanks for the storage offereing before and after the event. We will just have to see how things turn out....

Spec, we'll be in the Irvine/Newport Beach area. I'm just trying to lock down one more thing (trailer storage space for the week) before I throw up registration and bust out hotel information.

One thing we'll be doing

cool, Chris and Jerry can land their Citations, and am bringing the BONY-BLIMP.
Thinking about a new mod for my gal, using hydrogen, should be a blast.:rofl

Bony, I can help you with that hydrogen thing. Sort of. I forgot to tell you that I was in the pyrotechnics business for over 30 years. There is absolutely nothing too big that high explosives cannot solve. Hydrogen is easy to produce. I guess I better not post any recipies. Have fun!:eek

Indy, let me know if you find anything out about transport. I should be an easy pickup along the way. Not sure right now if I can get the time off.

Will do Frank! You are but a short hop away and right on the way to Kalifornia. Maybe we can hop on a west bound truck originating in New England or even the Midwest.

Maybe we can discuss this issue when GT owners are here in May.

Come On Frank,

You're a DRIVER, non a trailer queen.

Take the time off.

Hey man, you only live once.

This will be a really good run.

The scenery is beautiful and the roads are great.

Doing the drive to the out west Rally will be an experience you will never forget.

Fred

I just love driving this thing!!

Spirit, you know I love driving the car, but middle of July I finally get a helper. I am a little uneasy leaving a rookie unattended for any length of time in my field (could be serious consequences for the patient). I hate to go without the car, but common sense must dictate sometimes (we're not all Texans).

funny, the girls say the same thing about me:lol

I thought your customers, I mean patients are all stiff and cold?:wink

Bill, look at the post from Birdman. May be our answer.

Yeah, yeah, don't forget I also service the living by looking at their removed parts while still warm. Sometimes I actually touch live people.
