Although I don't put to much stock on what Ebay does or does not sell or the prices listed I see that 3 GT's have shown sold in the past 2 days. It must be Sprint is on the way.

Ya, but look at the prices now compared to a year ago...and even if the prices listed as sold for are off, it's not by huge amounts. The average asking/ selling is in the low 200k range now...and cars with miles are selling for those prices. When I bought my white GT with 2100 miles two years ago, I paid over 40k less than they are going for today.

I have not seen a clean car with less than 5k miles for $165 since about last year at this time.

The cars with salvage titles seem to be going for almost that.

This or very high miles (i.e. > 20-30K). Days of $165K are long gone.

On my '68 SL....the M-B Classic Center in Irvine expropriated it, citing "in-correct" issues

It's like re-hab center with secret stash

They says things like we have: " a replacement part or OEM or NOS in wax paper cradled in wood shavings "

On SoCal blondes....minor dry spell

Did they sell you any original 68 air and brake fluid too?

Actually all the high pressure hoses (power steer, power asst,
transmission, fuel injection, etc) were original

45 years old

I have to believe that they could have failed at any time. So did MB still have new production OEM parts for those hoses?

You got a decent $165k car for sale or a good $180k car, I'd be interested in discussing it with you

Seriously, ask prices start at $200k, even for 10k mile cars which freezes me out of the market in the near term

Happy, and increasingly rare, side benefit. I wouldn't give you any hassle because I know you are part of the fraternity of us nutbags that actually pound our cars, but I do get a laugh when I see dudes with 3-4k miles in 8 years of ownership proselytizing "who cares what it's worth, just drive it!" Yeah man, those 400 miles you racked up to and from the parking lot poser picnics this year must have been nuts! :lol

The hi pressure return pwr steering hose they have NEVER seen fail and have on 50+ yr old cars; think its 250 psi.

All other hoses are OEM available....from steel braided in gullwing to fabric wrapped vacuum to fuel injection lines; one hose they don't have metal end fitting and remove from old hoses and stamp press fit onto new rubber

Then they go into clamps from BERU to Norma to cotter pin with metal ribbon wrap

I didn't go nuts, just replaced every single hose and clamp so all seals are tight, as all sub-systems are mechanical / Hydraulic and its like reverse lockwork if feedback is off with vacuum, pwr assist and to mechanical fuel injection to throttle assists on steering, transmission, brakes, etc

Before electronics ur signals are only as good as hardware
