Think twice on the SpeedHut Gauges

So I wonder if the spike that takes out this inverter/regulator is the same spike that takes out the Ford gauges???

Love my stock gauges. I just hope they stay working....don't want to do aftermarket if I can. Nice to have option though if they fail.

I doubt selling a handful of gauge kits at what 10 cents on the dollar of the stock gauges has made Speedhut wealthy. Biting the hand that feeds you will end up leaving you with no options other than costly stockers.

:agree:

My interactions with Speedhut have been excellent and the product works great.

I also had to eat a couple hundred by bucks Labour for faulty inverter. I'm still ahead by a ton of money vs oem tho.

I will add I chose black with orange numbers... hard to see due to. shadow.. I'd opt for white numbers as a do over

I have an update for folks. Again, if you have the 12v inverter please call them and have them ship out the 18v version.

I finally got to the right folks and they are going to help me out. They agree that they should have been more proactive in notifying the GT owners that will have issues, and that has been my main gripe.

They clearly stand behind their product.

is the 18v brighter than the 12??

Not sure yet, as I need to swap it out. I will let you know.

+1

Should a properly functioning 12v inverter still be swapped with the 18v replacement?

I think it depends upon who you ask. I would say, from what I know, that its only a matter of time before the 12v fails, but if its working fine, why change it?

Glad to hear that they stand behind product. Too bad about labor costs, but as it was pointed out, compared to current prices on stock gauges a great option.

I just had them swap a 4" gauge face and needle. Cost me $35. You could probably have them do your entire set at a pretty reasonable rate.

On Friday Speedhut emailed me and presumably all other purchasers of FGT gauges about the inverter problems and the 18v upgrade. They must have had enough neg feedback on failures to offer a solution.

I received the same email & have requested a new inverter at no charge. Great service.

Ed

I got the email as well. It will take more time to blue tape than to install the new inverter. I'm not worried, and appreciate their follow up.

Likewise. I've had no trouble, but they have shipped a new inverter to me at no charge. Service!!!!!

You guys are welcome! ;)
