Just FYI, in case any of you enjoy watching auctions, here's the latest FGT to be auctioned on the Bring A Trailer site, and it ends today https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2006-ford-gt-21/

This is the 7th week in a row they've had a FGT to list! 5 of the 6 completed auctions did sell (reserve met).

This is also BaT's 13th of 2020. 10 of the 12 completed did sell. Amazing how many seem to be coming out of the woodwork to be sold ... due to the Ford v Ferrari movie?

Not that surprising with over 4000 cars made, all now 15 years old, and with selling prices up. Also, "normal" auctions are less of an option for sellers this year, and I think both buyers and sellers are realizing that BaT is a more efficient marketplace anyway, with GT sellers paying $99 and buyers only paying $5K- MUCH less than conventional auctions.

Here's the BaT Ford GT page with results, etc.

I would guess that at some point BaT will eliminate its current $5K fee cap. But, yes, definitely seems to be a good, efficient, reasonably priced site for auctioning cars.

The 2005/2006 is sitting in a wonderful spot.
Its the last of the analogue cars and built like a sherman tank.
The price range is higher but not through the roof.
Eight spark plugs a fliter or two and a set of tires IF you put a 100,000 miles and away you go.
They were wonderful then, they are even more spectacular now.
The Mercedes SLS is experiencing the same thing along with 430 or even 458 Ferraris.
ALL the new cars are nice but IMHO they are all throw away once the warranty is up, they have no soul, its computers talking to computers and your just in the seat. Soon the passenger seat as they will drive for you.....Boring.
Long live the Ford GT and it will.....
Great ride.

That was nice and stout,...the price,..for a 1700 mile car. Perhaps someday they will sell for more than a NFGT.
:geek:
😂

Why would anyone auction a car through the big auctions, instead of BaT? I’m seeing better prices on BaT for FGTs than through the big public auction companies. Not to mention the seller gets to keep a lot more of the sale price.

Win-win (y)

Another big sale on BaT today. 2006 Tungsten with 3600 mules for $365,000. Outlier or new trend?

Yeah, that was surprisingly high, compared to the others that have sold on BaT. That was the highest price yet for a non-Heritage FGT, regardless of miles.

So apparently if I want the value of mine to increase from what I thought it was I need to add about 3,300 miles (y)

On the other hand, that was a 1-owner car. That might make a bigger difference than I would've thought.

People are spending money like drunken sailors right now. Pent up and bored from the pandemic combined with cheap money. I'm as guilty as the next guy having added a few cars myself.

...and I’m trying to prune my fleet to the ones I usually drive!

Sounds pretty cheap....I mean have you guys priced mules lately? And 3,600 of them? Big score....

So why does a red one with only 1700 miles go for 315??And a tungsten one with 3600 miles go for 365?

Same answer as always: Ya need 2 guys who really, really want it. Big ego helps, oh and some alcohol 😁

365 is 15.9% more than 315. Doesn't seem as much as that way.

That requires further information Sir ;)

There was a 500k heritage on there recently. super low mileage

Well I'm glad I bought my Tungsten GT 2 months ago for 70k less than that! 400 miles more, 2 owner, and no calipers though.... i think that's worth the $70k discount! Why cant the weather get better here in MA!

They built more red cars and they show up more frequently for sell would be my guess.

Nah, it just depends on who showed up at the auction that day. In this case, two guys who really wanted that car.
