Guys, ive been using the charger this winter, the one from the factory, hey it REALLY WORKS, IT SEEMS THAT IT GIVES JUST ENOUGH JUICE THAT THE CAR DOESNT DIP. I LIKE IT!!! JUST SOME POSITIVE NEWS FROM THE PEANUT GALLERY GTJOEY 1314:thumbsup

This is true. I cleaned out my Navigator before I turned it in 2 days ago and the battery was just about dead from only ten minutes of listening to the stereo. GT was powered up so I unplugged it and hooked it to the Navigator. The Trickle Charger had it juiced back up in about 10 minutes.

*note- this will NOT work on a dead GT battery.

"Roger" that. 'Same experience here...

I just wish that it came with a light so as to be able to verify what it is doing; otherwise I agree it worked perfectly. Because of the lack of light I opted for the nice kit that Kendall put togther and sells through this Forum.

All the best

BAttery Tender

This is the second year (winter) for mine to be used. It has worked perfectly. I do wish it had a 'status light' like the ones I use on the other car and the motorcycle. The only way I 'check' it weekly is to put my palm on it and can detect a small amount of heat. I then assume it is still working.

Maybe someone who is electrically inclined can find a simple solution to the "no light" problem. It looks like there is already an opening in the cigarette plug where a light was either initially planned or could easily go.

FGT charger

I agree I like mine. i bought three for cars that I have garaged at home.

The lack of a light is a negative. The point needs to be made that most cheap chargers that have a light, only show that the plug in has power. This is of limited use. The real issue is is the connection okay at the lighter socket. I have not had a problem but I know my Lotus has a less than ideal lighter socket feel that does not always connect to radar GPS etc. The
Ford and Porsche have been perfect.

The Battery Tender actually show chrarging data with the idiot lights. For cars that I store for a few months, I use the battery tender. The tender also runs very cool.

One other small point is some cars have lighters that go dead when the ignition is shut off. This means the FGT trickle cannot be used. My ferrari 360 stayed on so i was able to use the FGT charger for several years. The new F430 goes dead so I have to use the clunky Ferrari charger or the Battery Tender. I always choose the BT.
