It took over an hour to get to the head of the line.

Awesome pics!! :thumbsup:thumbsup

I would have loved to have seen the jet bike make its run. Did the GT guy with the chute actually deploy it? As you can tell by my avatar I have a thing for parachutes. :lol

Another good reason, besides the impending Rally IV of course, to make a Texas road trip. Congrats again on your run. I would have the :biggrin also if I did that. :cheers

I only saw the jet bike run once and he said afterwards it was just a shakedown run. He did 175 or so. I don't know what he did on Sunday.

The GT with the chute only ran once while I was there Saturday and he said he backed out early due to a tuning problem so no chute. I asked him what speed they had to hit before they would deploy the chute and he said 230. Again, I don't know what they did on Sunday.

What a great weekend weather wise. Keith congrats on your 200 mph well deserved. It was amn interesting event and it was nice having Ray hang out with us at A.R.T's camp. I ran the car and at 170 the clutch decided it was time to go bye bye shifting between 4th and 5th. So time for a new and better clutch. The track itself to answer Bony's question was clean it is the pit out lanes that are terrible if your not creeping. Run off room was 1/2 mile. It was not a lost weekend, I did bring another car to play with the Challenger with the 440 Stroker. There were four other Challengers and they ran tops 150, I had a blast running the Challenger to 167 mph. Not bad for a lug.
The A.R.T GT ended up with a 203 on his last run, the car is insane the shoot never was opened and there was a lot left on the table with that car. I will tell you at 168 I lost me clutch was 3/4 into the run, so I was headed for 200+ on the Red car. What an incredible rush and the car felt well planted. The Jet Bike topped out at 176 not much there SW ran 241 his last run and he was flying, shoot deployed and all was good. Keith it was a great pleasure meeting you and your wife and glad you made it home safe and sound. These cars are incredible. Car is now getting a new clutch, bath, upgraded exhaust and then it's time to start a new car. What a great weekend, Clutch might have blown but hanging out with a great group of people is even better.

Hi Bernie, I'm glad you got to have some fun after coming all that way. There's no doubt that red car will run well over 200 ( as any twin turbo should) and I'm sure you'll get there next time.

167 is an awsome speed for a car with the aerodynamics of a brick, it says a lot for the engine, congratulations.

My car will also get a Stillen clutch before the next trip. The stock clutch has proven it's ability to hold the power but any attempt to feather it off the line causes it to overheat and slip. That's what happened on my third run and the clutch didn't hook up until I shifted to 4th gear. Its only because the car is so powerful that I still ran a 190.

Next March I'm going to plan on staying through Sunday morning. I'll run Saturday and Sunday til noon and then quit. The temps and the wind after noon kill any chance at improving your speeds so you're just punishing your car for nothing.

We enjoyed meeting you and the A.R.T. guys were great too. I figure they'll come loaded for bear next time so March should be fun.

Great pictures thanks for sharing with us east coasters.

Keith I enjoyed it. I posted Cody's time incorrect it was 206.98. Sorry Cody.

I believe SW has the record at 241 in a supra:eek approx 1500 hp comon Ray let the beast loose:biggrin

Sunday had more problems with a Mustang that went off the end of the track and I think a bike wreck at the big end as we were leaving. We smoked the clutch in the hot rod and called a day.
