Since I have a wheel removal in the future any suggestions on how to avoid scratching the lug nuts?

A good quality 6 point socket, and 1st put a plastic bag over the nut. Cut the bag into a sheet, simply lay it flat over the nut, install socket. NO power tools.

You'll need to get unobtanium sockets. I think Walmart has them on the shelf next to the flap actuators.

I would call MM and ask what they use.

Any good auto parts store sells Lug nut sockets with Delrin inserts specifically for the purpose of removal without scratching the nuts or surrounding surface. If you can't find them at a store then Snap-on online sells them as well as Matco.com

This is what we use. Not sure the size off hand.

Got wheel from Kevin in 2 days had mounted and back in business. 150 ft lbs of torque seems excessive but manual and concierge confirmed.
Filing a claim with Ga. DOT and they do occasionally pay for damage from pot holes. A long shot but maybe especially when they see the cost!

90 ft/lbs should be good.
But, who I'm I to argue with the "manual"?

Drove perfectly fine one day, the next day no power. Got the rear cover open, pulled the tab to open the door, the door was unsprung but no power for the window drop so can’t open door. Have to do the front passenger wheel and well removal to get to battery. ordered a low profile long reach jack and the socket above, I had 20 and 22 mm, and sae sockets. Waiting......

Suggest everyone verify the emergency door pulls both Inside and out of interior. Be aware that if you’re inside the car and power is gone In an emergency situation you pull the tab and Shoulder smash the inside of the door and break the window to get the door open.

Unless I’m incorrect.

Here are two scratch resistant alternatives from Harbor Freight. Both sets include the 21MM socket for FGT lug nuts, plus additional sizes for other wheel nut applications you may need someday. $70 or $43 bucks respectively.

I go with factory specs on torquing the wheels
They know more than I
