For those of you using the short shifter, what has been everyone's preference or experience between the OEM rubber mount bushings vs. the solid bushings for the shifter bracket?

I used the solid bushings, never tried the rubber. I didn't notice any excess noise or viabration.

I've had the solid bushings for the last 85,000 miles. No issues what so ever. Best bang for the mod $'s.

Solid bushings give a more precise shift gate. Some have put the OEM shifter rubber bushings in their short throw shifters because they liked a looser feel. I prefer the precision.

GT Guys recommendation.Had mine for years. A little harder to get into reverse, and day-to-day driving not really noticeable, but track shifting is MUCH improved.

I don't know what config I have but my shifter from the GT guys is almost perfect. For the life of me I can't imagine why Ford didn't ship it that way. I guess they had to leave some bangles for the retail division - lots higher margin there.

I went with the solid mount and love the feel. The only part I don't like about this transmission is that the shifter moves slightly in and out from throttle to no throttle.
Solid installed and driven. Nice! I honestly thought there would be a rather lengthy debate. You know; 2 GT owners, 3 opinions. So, thanks for the unanimous response and saving me a lot of time. :driving:

For me the precise feel of the solid bushings was even more important than the shorter throw of the new shifter.
