Road Trip to Norwalk Ohio - Sat August 25th

Ford GT Roadtrip to Norwalk Ohio. Summit Motorsports Park, August 25, 2018

We are planning a one day road trip from the Detroit area and all points in Middle America, Hudson Ohio etc. to Norwalk, Ohio to attend the 4 day NMCA All American Nationals Drag Races. They are being held at Summit Motorsports Park (just South of the Ohio Turnpike.)

The races take place on all four days, but we are planning a one-day trip on Saturday , August 25, 2018.
(Saturday August 25 is one week AFTER the Woodward Dream Cruise)

My good friend Steve Wolcott , President and CEO of Pro Media will be our host.

This trip will be open to all Ford GT's 2017, 2018, 2005, 2006 and we will have special Car show parking for our vehicles.

At a minimum I will be taking H0098 Liquid Blue and several folks from the Roush Livonia plant where they build our Ford GT engines will be driving down. My good friend John Torvinen from the Roush plant will be with us.

This is also the 50th anniversary of the CobraJet and I am aware that there will be special events with Ford Motor Company and Cobrajet owners all weekend and that some of our Ford GT Forum members may already be attending with Cobrajets.

Andy, please let me know when you pass through Hudson, my hometown. I may be there or at my boat in Sandusky, would love to see you all and give you a tour of the collection. I may come to the drag races as well. Count us in, we should have our new NGT by then. Let’s stay in touch to coordinate.

Since we completed our road trip to the Gilmour Museum with Kevin and his team, I will now begin to concentrate on this trip.
We will have special parking in the NMRA NMCA Car Show Corral .
Mustangs , GT350R's etc are invited also!

I know we have at least one GTFORUM Member who will be racing his vintage 1968 Cobra Jet,
I will publish more details soon..

--So far it looks like we have a Liquid Red, Frozen White and Liquid Blue 2017 MY GT's attending .
--Plus the Grabber Blue Smurf GT from Montana.

--Tim - we will be coming down from Michigan and then East . So , If you have the new car, take the Turnpike from Hudson Ohio and come West.. or bring one of your other collection.!

You can drive an hour north and see some Cobra Jets at the Atco Division 1 race on August 3-5.

Not to derail this thread, but, as there is a strong MI contingent represented here, do any of you have woodward, or Mustang Memories plans (the weekend before this road trip)

-Mustang Alley is again on 9 mile/Woodward in Ferndale on Saturday August 18.
-Mustang Memories will be the next day, Sunday Aug 19 at Ford World Headquarters.
I do not have a good "Central " location for any of us to meet up...
But it would be nice to see any FGT Forum Members who are in town..
