Pricing

I know one dealer that gets that laid off inventory from other high end dealers.

Keep saying over and over, get a PPI, 30%+ of the fleet has had a story happen to it.

Be very careful... Not to say, that a properly repaired car can be as good as new...

Luxury motors in Las Vegas is listing a 2006 Blue 4 option car with 14,000 miles for $139,995.

'COULD be "the story" is the dealer just needs the money...
Ding Ding.It is very bad right now for some.....If you have cash things can be purchased extremely cheap......even a GT.If you guys have been watching many of the same cars have been sitting for months.

Hope this does not come across as to sour.... BULLSHIT!!

1/3 of the fleet has stories.

Reporting prices without inspecting the cars is useless.

How about mods? Has any damage been properly repaired?? What are the colors??

Several dealers have poor reps, then there are the jewels like Bernie and Shelby.

If you want to post dealers names, feel free to do so,... But inspect the car first.

Thanks!
Happy New Year!!

Bony, what would you define as a story car?

1. paint scratches.
2. paint chips, repaired or unrepaired.
3. minor dents, repaired or unrepaired.
4. One or more body panels replaced.
5. Suspension parts damaged and replaced.
6. Frame damaged, repaired or replaced.
7. Engine or transaxle repaired or replaced.

Clinton...
A story is an explanation.
Example, 'repaired better than new'...

A no story car is just that, perfect records, great paint, leather, glass.
No questions to be answered.

Why do low mileage cars demand big bucks?? They should be 110% perfect.
No stories whatsoever.
People will pay for the comfort factor.

Bony, thanks for the explanation. Now your 33% number may seem low. I have seen cars new from a dealer that would be a story car. e.g. while at a new car dealer I witnessed a car backed into a pole by an employee. I am sure that car would be repaired and sold as new without a disclosure to the buyer. :ack

Ass-xactly! :). No doubt we know forum members who take great pride and care of their stuff, and their word is their bond.

I would buy a car from you, Randy, Jerry and quite a few folks over the phone because I know and respect you. If I don't know the owner, or fully trust the dealer, I will pay Shadowman or GT Guys to do a full PPi. This means belly pans off and on an alignment rack.

My car has a story - I have kept a log of every mile and road it has traveled on, the milage at each and every fillup, the closing milage of each day traveled, any problems incurred, etc. Here's an example:

09-11-2008: About 8:45 am, I left “THEhotel” with a passenger, “Anders,” from Denmark, and a member of the Ford GT Forum. We traveled west on Hacienda, then south and north on Frank Sinatra Drive, then west on Russell Road, joining I-15 northbound. We exited I-15 at Speedway Boulevard and traveled southeast about a ½ block to the Shelby Automobiles facility at 6755 Speedway. After touring their car museum and factory assembly area, we left with about 6 or 8 other Ford GT’s for a road cruise through the Valley of Fire. We continued southeast on Speedway, then south on Checkered Flag Lane, southwest on Las Vegas Boulevard, south on Nellis Boulevard to Lake Mead Boulevard, SR 147. Turning east, we drove out SR 147 to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area where it becomes Northshore Road, driving through the Pinto Valley Wilderness all the way to the Overton Beach road, SR 169. There, we drove northwest through the Valley of Fire State Park, and up to Glendale at the junction of I-15; then southwest back to Las Vegas, exiting at Russell Road, west to Valley View, north to Hacienda to the hotel entrance road and finishing about 3:00 pm. The odometer reading upon parking the GT was 22,495.9 miles. (Δ = 146.9)

09-12-2008: Prior to leaving the hotel parking area, I lowered the pressure in all four tires down to 28 psi, in order to enhance the traction at the track sessions planned for today. About 8:30 am, I left “THEhotel” and drove out to the Las Vegas Speedway. I drove south and then north on Frank Sinatra Drive, then west on Russell Road, joining I-15 northbound. I exited I-15 at Speedway Boulevard and traveled southeast to Checkered Flag Lane, then south and into the entrance to the infield paddock area for the infield road course. I spent the whole day at the Speedway, running on the road course for 3 sessions, then flagging at the finish line for the remainder of the afternoon. At the end of the day, I left the Speedway infield, taking Checkered Flag Lane and Speedway Boulevard back to I-15, and then I-15 south to Las Vegas, where I exited at Russell Road, turned west about a block to a Chevron station where I stopped to refuel (15.895 mpg). I then continued west on Russell, then north on Valley View, and east on Hacienda Boulevard to the hotel entrance road, and into the hotel parking structure. The odometer reading upon parking the GT was 22,550.0 miles. (Δ = 54.1)

When I'm gone from this world (& Dr. Frank does a nice job on me), the next owner would be able to take my car and reproduce every mile on it to that date, if desired.

I would guess most may have stories about the flashing red lights behind them.

07-11-2007: After breakfast, I left the Trading Post, heading west on SR 64 to Grand Canyon National Park, stopping to take a few pictures along the way, then south on SR 64 to Williams. Through Williams, I drove the short section of Historic US 66, then got on I-40 and headed west to Ash Fork, taking the (H) US 66 through the town. Back on I-40 for 5 miles, and then on (H) US 66 through Seligman and Peach Springs all the way to Kingman, where I stopped to get an ice cream cone and take some pictures of the old Santa Fe “Northern” 4-8-4 steam engine in the park there.

I continued out of town on (H) US 66 to McConnico, then got back on the westbound I-40 to the California border. About 3 miles south of Needles, I got on another section of (H) US 66 through town, back to I-40 and west to the US 95 turnoff (also another (H) US 66) to Arrowhead Junction and continued on 66 for about 110 miles through Goffs, Fenner, Essex, Chambliss, Amboy to Ludlow, where I rejoined I-40 to Barstow. Then, I went south on I-15 to SR 210, west to Haven Avenue, north to Vista Grove Street, to Leanne’s house on the corner at xxxx xxxxx xxxxxxxxxx Place. Near Victorville, I was stopped by a California Highway Patrolman, who gave me a ticket for no rear license plate, but signed off the infraction when he saw that I had the plates with me coming back from the track. Unfortunately, he forgot to give me back my license, but upon calling their office and his subsequent return call, I found out that he still had it, and would have it kept in the office for me to pick up in the morning. The odometer reading upon arrival at Leanne’s house was 5833.8 miles. (Δ = 563.3 miles)

Is this what happens when you retire to the mountains? Writing your memoirs?

I Mark my calendar everytime I drive my FGT and GT500 for that matter - but you are the man! My car is red also - maybe it is a red thing!

Good stuff Ralphie. :cheers

Wow. I've never heard of such a thing. It's like a detailed flight log. Or more accurately, a diary of the life of Ralphie's Ford GT.

After reading Ralphie's posts - I have to ask,

Does OCD develop with the ownership of a Ford GT?

I know I'm developing one! :lol

Daily Log:
"Drove my FGT in Dubai, loved it!"

December 12th Log:
"Didn't get a chance to drive the FGT, hated the day!"

Is this what happens when you retire to the mountains? Writing your memoirs?

Knowing Ralphie as I do, retirement for him is called work by anyone else.

The Mountain Man with the Red GT will be on his tombstone with 1/12th scale GT monument topper.:banana

Many decades from now I hope. :thumbsup

note to self: apply for patent on solar powered Digital Picture viewer with surround sound feature with secure mounting feature onto grave markers. Remember to ask Ralphie how many giga bytes of memory his GT saga will take.
