No worries. You should search his screen name and go through some of his posts. Few here that post and participate have as much whit, sarcasm, and vinegar while still being insightful, and constructive to the forum.

Oh! Geez .. I didn't know 😕

Here is my GT being delivered on April 11, 2006. It was a brand new 2005 model with 20 miles on the odometer. It must be a an early build version because I have machined billet control arms on all 4 corners.

Hard to believe I've owned it for 14 years.

What's your VIN? I don't see the "band aids" covering the clam shell's upper right and left seams, which I thought were only on early VINs. Maybe not all cars got them / needed them

VIN is 1712.

I believe my car was built in August of 2005.

Recall the "drive around the block" to check things out. Ended up in the neighboring State before I turned around.

I believe my car was built in August of 2005.

GTJoey's book, Ford GT 2005-2006: The Complete Owners Experience, refers to "Phase 1" the first batch of ~500 GTs where some have some issues, Phase 2 is '05 VINs ~500 to ~1,000 and Phase 3 is '05 VINs ~1,000 to 2,022 (which was the final '05) which is the group he calls the high-water mark of the entire 05 / 06 run, ie fewest parts issues and fitment problems, and build quality the highest.

So with yours being about the 1,700th GT built, and in GTJoey's Phase 3, I don't think yours is considered early, and actually you probably have one of the best ones 🍻 ... and that probably explains why I don't see the clam shell band aids (y)

Thank you Extrap for the information and clarification.

It is always gratifying to learn additional tidbits about one's car!

I agree, White/Blue for the win :)

Own 3 Deloreans, one I have always wanted to use to go back and buy a FGT when they were $150k lol

I just received my '06 Tungsten about a month ago. The feeling of watching it being backed out of the 18-wheeler onto the hydraulic ramp (zero room for error) and be lowered to the ground, was equal parts cool and nerve-wracking.

I have pix to post, but apparently I don't have that privilege yet.

BTW: Mister moderator, what do I have to submit to you, to be allowed to post photos? I submitted the info asked for on the site, about 4 weeks ago. I definitely own an FGT. I can send pix of the VIN and registration, plus me with the car, or whatever you'd like.

I can call on MJSFRX (Marc) as a personal reference. He came by my house last weekend in his white/blue '05, and we did a fast lap around the neighborhood in mine.

Please advise, thanks.
