Enjoy!
Pathetic ,almost everyone one of them understeers right into the armco. It was humorous watching them try to add throttle as they understeered I guess they haven't figured out how to deal with under steer!Decrease the steering input and ease off the throttle!

thanks, I hope John an Janine watches this before they goes in March, be careful..

I have been there allot and it's a very very advanced track. You must respect it allot.
But once you tried the Nordschleife then you will become like a crack head ! It is very addictive !!!

Check out this video where you can se " The Porsche GPS system " guide you thru one lap. :wink

Can someone explain all the chalk marks on the pavement? Do people go out and mark spots? When is the track clear enough to go out to be able to do that without getting run over by a 200MPH flying rocket?

WOW!!! No Helmets! Passengers! Passengers with no helmets! Getting out of car! Was that really a track day or did someone open the gate and alot of people sneak on????

Touristenfahrten (TF) is something that makes everyone able to drive on the track.
When so, everything on wheels are accepted to enter the track.

No believe it or not, I was going 150mp/h ++ with the GT-R and over took a french tourist bus at Schwedenkreuz, now that was under a TF.
When its TF the long 2km straight is closed as it is the enter and exit point of each lap, also it is not aloud to have a camera and home made roll cage etc.
But when it is track days there are some rules like helmets and so and also the long straight is fully open so you could go flat out.

I will never drive TF again, I only do track days because people show respect to each other under track days but not in TF.
I almost crashed at VERY VERY high speed when a Golf with 4 dutch girls was driving 70km/h and taking pictures when me and my pals came at 180-200km/h behind them, that could have enden very very bad. Since then ZERO TF.

TF is open almost every day mostly between 16:00 and 20:00 depends on weather and events.
Can be open from early mornings somethimes but it is mostly testing and track days from morning to TF opening at 16:00.

Love the thought behind it, but, just a small amount of protection would go a long way! Just helmets. The part of the video that scared me was when the two cars pull off track and all jump out to check under the hood.

Looks like a zoo.

:agree: with the exception of when motorcycles goes down with cars all around!

Larry if you only knew what I have seen.
Worst cars are the hot hatch UK reg cars.
I have seen them driving with one hand and filming with the other.

When it's high season there are easy 10-15 wrecked cars each day.
Once I was going for a attack lap, then it started to rain and we slowed down, then this guy with a Golf with spoilers and stuff thought yeah lets over take 3 Porsches and a GT-R, when he passed me he went straight in to the right wall, then left, then right again and up on his roof. That is a typical TF crash.

I haven't been there yet and most of the time it's open for public and most of the time cars are wrecked with people trying out their stock cars. No interest to me then. German colleques go there often but often don't even drive as its too crowdy.
I'm interested in those track event there with limited number of cars

Kurt that is the best idea.
Track events often puts a limit of 120 cars, that is perfect and mostly very good driver that know the track from before.

You will love it with your MP4-12C !!!

In may we'll first go to spa with the MP4 and in July perhaps the ring with?? could be the sls we'll see which mood.

Sascha should organise a gathering of Ford GT's. He has more than sufficient connections to organise something. Imagine a world FGT gathering :)

The first time I went to the Ring and sat there watching people passing on all sides in blind corners, people riding tandem on crotch rockets, GT3 RS next to VW Golf, it was clear immediately you could never do this here. Imagine the world's most complicated track day, with run groups ranging from "probably dozing from last night's bender" to "trying to set lap record in race car" and no safety equipment. Awesome, crazy, worrisome. It's a miracle more people don't die on it as is.

We could export some lawyers to fix it.

There is a video of me chasing former F1 driver Adrian Sutil in a Gumpert Apollo S and an ex Rally driver in his Manthey 997 Turbo.
The video showes how we do it when its track day.

They used slicks and I think its changed now because of the new reglements.

The peeps with the cameras need to stop pouring oil on the track at that corner.

We're looking forward to it. Have some great cars lined up and some time with Sabine Schmidt. You can't talk us out of it. Will report back.
