NFGT Brake Noise?

Hi Gang,

My new GT with 1,400 miles is making noise when the brakes are applied... it’s a continuous metal scratch or rattle - probably coming from the front. The pads seem thick enough. Any suggestions???

The rear rotors have some <1/4” check marks/grooves but not the front rotors. Will try to post pics...

Pebble stuck in one of the cross-drilled holes?

Looks normal but hard to tell in pics sometimes.
 
I have not seen this brought up with the NFGT yet and have not looked at the manual, but Carbon Brakes normally need to be bedded or "burnished" and it is a grueling process to do right, much more involved than steel rotors. Something like 50 stops from 60 to 5 mph, no abs, and then like a 5 mile drive without hitting the brakes. Alternatively a pretty good session on track with increasing laps and then a cool down. When this is done right, CC brakes are incredible and last forever as long as they do not get chipped.
For street use it may not need this level of bedding, but a good street bedding would not hurt and may just eliminate the squeek.
 
Could be a trapped pebble. Have seen it happen before. Sound is gnarly until it falls out.

It looks like part of the pad is missing in photo 3. Really ragged at the edge. Torn fibers.

Compare it to the clean edge in photo 5, which is how I would expect it to look.

Lots of stuff accumulating in the holes for 1,400 miles. Have you tracked it already?

Looks like the trailing edge of the pad vs the leading edge.
