Well, I'm off to a good start. One of my goals for 08 was to run the GT to that magic number. We all know the GT will go over 200 mph. Please save the bashing and the lectures. I needed to do it once to feel it.. to live it!!
Well the first run of clear road netted a 199mph on the GPS before encountering some rolling road blocks. After some more runs and some real trust in these brakes I went deep and the old Garmin registered a 202 mph !!! The Speedometer is off by about 3 mph at 100 mph. ( Speedo read 100 mph GPS read 97mph) I did not look at the Speedo at the higher speeds. I had the GPS in my line of site go I didn't have to look away.... Still have the goose bumps and the adrenaline in my system. The GT rocks.

Mark McGowan ( GT Test Driver ) told me at the rally on how the car would come into it's own above 180 mph. The front splitter really takes effect and plants the front end. It's True !! The road surface was not he best but the car tracked right down the road !!! I think I'm read for a TT set up just so I can get there quicker !! Anyone have Jason H's phone number handy !!!!

Brian..I trust you weren't the one taking pictures of the GPS..:eek

Nonetheless, good job!

So......what was it like? Did time go backwards?? :lol

Nice job! I was out running around all day today in broward county. Would have love to have see you fly by.

Brian, great minds think like. I have a Garmin Nuvi also and had the same goals for the new year. However I have a Whipple pushing 19 psi. So it went a little faster. My est. with the 732 RWHP I have is a top speed of over 230, but it wasn't accerating that fast anymore and a ran out of road on the "test track!"

:thumbsup :cheers :lol

Happy New Year Stormy!

Brian, Wow, the magical 200 mph - shattered! Congrats, my friend.

Nice guys! Welcome to the GPS verified 200+ MPH club. :cheers

Oh, and btw, looks like my estimate that a 750rwhp Whipple would do 225-230 was right Mr. BlackIce!

Alright Mr. Blackice....fess up. Like Stormcat said, it's awfully curious that all the other numbers on your gps just happen to be exactly the same as Brians readout.

I'd have to call that a good photoshop!

But congratulations to you Stormcat. I hope to do the same sometime this year.:cheers

good catch :ack

I didn't change the other numbers because I wasn't really trying to fool anyone. Just having a little fun. I could have done a better job by taken a picture of my Nuvi and then Photoshopping the numbers. Changing all of number from Brian's photo would have be much harder.

Now, how do we know if Brian didn't also use Photoshop? Is there a video posted somewhere? Video are a little harder to edit. In the digital age, it is hard do know what is real and what is not.
