First off I want to say that this is a great forum and was extremely helpful in deciding to take the plunge on a car that I wanted since I first saw the concept.
Unfortunately I was one of the morons sitting around waiting for them to depreciate for the last couple years and bought myself a couple vipers and then a car with no soul (997TT) to try and satisfy myself, it didnt work and I finally just said to hell with it and took the plunge.
I got a 2k mile PERFECT yellow/black 06 with everything except calipers, which I may want to do in yellow anyway. Its the color I always wanted, matched my first viper and my boat and made it easier to pay too much once I let my emotions get involved.
The only thing I need to do with the car is get the clam shell slightly adjusted on the drivers side latch, it has to be closed a little harder than I think it should for the latch to grab other wise I get the door ajar light. Is this something I can do myself with some online instruction or do I need to get it to a pro?
I am planning on modifying the car rather quickly and after browsing and searching the forum for about every hour I have been awake for the last week I am still left with some questions.
What kind of power, 1/4 mile times, 60-130 times will the car pull with a pulley/tune/exhaust setup? Ive seen what they do with just the pulley tune (10.90 @130 ish) but couldnt find anything on what happens with the exhaust (I think im leaning towards the accufab)
What do I pick up if I decide to go the 4.0 whipple route with the same exhaust and run a 21lb pulley? power, 1/4, 60-130? and does anyone have pics of the black one on a yellow/black car?
Are there any driveability issues with either setup and is anything else needed to run either setup reliably?
I live in South Carolina close to a shop called amazon racing, They helped me build a very fast lightning f-150 way back in 01 and then an even faster 03 cobra right when they came out as well and are pretty well known in the worst of fast S.v.t. stuff. I am taking the car by monday or tuesday for a baseline dyno pull and to chat about mods.
