Congrats! Beautiful car! Don't worry about getting the slow color, it's still fast enought to get out of it's own way. :wink:biggrin

Drive her safely! :thumbsup

spgGT,

How'd you find a "new one", sg? I though all of the 2005 and 2006s had been sold to buyers, and everything from now on, would be 'used'?

I'm getting ready to sell my GC&N Complex, and am just about to enter the market for a 2006 unit, wo/ all the problems and recalls, hopefully.

Did you get one wo/ those problems, sg? How'd you delineate between the 'haves' and 'have nots'? Is there a way to tell?

Yes, as you can easily guess, I'm a 'newbie' at this *supercar* stuff, but remembering the '66-'69 LeMans wins of the GT40s, I just had to have one, after I'd heard they were going into production.

if you have a few spare moments, pls tell me how you found a dealer to get a 'new one' through, and what has your experience been so far.

Many thanks, sg.

Problems????? to what do you speak?

Certainly a few of the gals have had to be twisted and tweaked a bit after having been exercised a bit however these gals have likely been more trouble and glitch free when compared to most anything else out there; except for a static model.

I hope that you find the gal that you want and I also hope that if she ask you for a little help that you do not consider it a flaw but rather a minor growing pain and part of her character.

All the best

I've read about suspension part failure recalls, fluid leaks recalls etc, but those were primarily on the 2005 units, IIRC.

I'm wondering if you think I should seach for/buy a 2005 or 2006 unit? Weren't the 2006 units more free of those niggling problems? Just curious...

Those 'niggling problems' won't deter me, once I sell my business and can afford one, Shadowman.

Thanks for your expertise and advice.

Thanks, Todd, but I have to get my GC&N Complex sold before I can do that. I have ***a lot*** tied-up there, and need to finalize the deal with a buyer, after I get the 'business valuation', 'real estate appraisal' and 'comparative market market analysis' docs back, and consumate the sale.

I truly wish I could do it tomorrow, and give the buyer my keys, asap. The process is agonizingly slow, IMO, and I'm itching to get into the unit you speak of, RIGHT NOW!

Just damn!

No worries, everything happens in its own time.
As for all the problems you adress have no worries. Sure there have been a few bugs here and there , but over all they are the best cars in the world.
Ford has repaired every bug with minimal hassle you will be happy with either year of car.:thumbsup

Plus ANYONE you get will (should be - except Jeff's) under warranty.

The "nigglings" have been or will be fxed.

Just buy one you are happy with. They are close to bullet proof.

Nice car and I like your Porsches too! I hope you drive them and they don't stay confined to those bubbles!

:thumbsup

Enjoy your new toy! Go out and drive it!!! Welcome to the "club".:cheers

Thanks, Todd. I knew Ford would do so.

I just wish that I could *hurry-along* the preparation, negotiation and sale process, as I'm "itching and twitching" to get one of the "GT Gals".

I just wish there was one in nearby MD, which I could visit and drool over... LOL!

Best to you, Todd,

Calling Pete S.

John-
There IS one! Give a shout out to PETE S. He lives in MD and I am sure would be happy to show you his red beauty! Look him up in the registry and send him a PM.

Incidently as previously posted, do not worry about the early recalls (suspension arm and speedisleve). These imperfections were all early run hickups, envolved a few amount of cars in the total production run and were all fixed by Ford. Done! Do not worry.

Just find one you like and join the fun!!
