Long time no post, hope everyone is well. I traded in the old SUV for the 14 SRT jeep. In a word, BANG! I love it. Interior is nice with upgraded leather, and its the nicest DD I've owned. Lots of functional tech. Was trying to decide between cayenne TT and this, and I thought the Jeep was nicer in every way IMO. Only downfall is I'm averaging 10mpg in city, but my best 0-60 is also 4.4, so give and take I suppose. Throws me back so hard though :) Anyway, heres a pic. photo.jpg

Nice ride. Looks good in the white. Sleeper.

What is the towing capability???

Nice!
You saved a bit compared to your other choice.
Enjoy.

Is that snow on the ground in Austin??

Thanks!

Tows 7700, and yes that was a rare snow day in Austin.

My wife and my son both have DD Jeep SRT8's........you will love it! ( especially in your climate)

I don't have the SRT, but I bought my son the new Grand Cherokee and liked it so much I bought one for me as a back up, winter car.

Amazing what they have done with these cars. I like it better than our Escalade. The dealer tells me folks are trading Lexus, BMW etc SUVs for them.

Great looking truck. They have an amazing presence on the street. I would have def picked one up for the wife if we didn't need more room.

Sweet!

I have an JC SRT and love it. It's a great DD.

I have a 99 grand Cherokee. I like it best while my wife likes my dodge 1500 truck best. She won't switch though because she has trouble parking it or making turns without hitting something

Great looking jeep. Really like it and the SRT8 jeep as a whole, but to say its better than the cayenne TT is not true at all in my opinion. I have owned and drove both. The cayenne is a much much higher quality vehicle. Bang for the buck, I would agree the SRT8 is a better value, but definitely not anywhere near nicer than the Cayenne TT, and it shouldn't be...., the Cayenne is twice the price!

Thanks!

So, is that a GT in a trailer? Ought to be, yes?

daytrayd - love your choice and the choice of color too!! Excellent value!

I leaned real hard the same way.... but the fuel mileage for me wouldn't work. My dd would be comprised of 250 miles each week and frequent weekend jaunts to Spring Mountain (270 miles each way). Soooo wanted the SRT8 and think it is a great choice but I kept looking...

I picked up a 2013 Touareg Diesel. White with black interior. Exec trim package. Promptly lowered it with HR (German) springs and put Cayenne Turbo-sized wheels tires on it. I ABSOLUTELY love it. Although a little early to say, I'm tempted to call it the best dd vehicle I've ever owned. It simply does everything right. Stunning good looks and ride quaility. German "thunk" when closing the doors. Definitely a man's interior.... nicely layed out and all business. Acceleration is strong with 415 lb-ft or torque. All this cake - and eat it too. Cruising to Vegas at 75-80, 30 mpg is pretty easy. Commute to/from work is 28-30mpg. Ryan is off at college and stole my Focus ST.... forcing a new car purchase. I am very happy. Still admire the SRT8..... but it's nice filling up every 650 miles and dropping in 20-25 gallons!

Shelby, I hear what you are saying about the Cayenne - but my experience with a recent GTS completely turned me off of the whole Porsche theme. My 2009 GTS had virtually every option but Porsche is so f'g greedy to charge for every single little option. Mine had no automatic headlights. Every option known to mankind but oh-no, no automatic headlights unless you PAY for it. Heck, 90% of the rental cars I get have auto headlights..... but not the f'g Porsche. I will NEVER forgive those bastards! My other pet-peeve..... the ignition switch on the left side of the column!! I couldn't give a rat's ass about Porsche's fine racing heritage - and they want to constantly remind me they are a racing car company at heart. Just f'g let me read that somewhere - but don't have me fumble with the keys EVERY time I get in the damn car! Finally - and this is a great one...I'm told all of the cars come with a quart of Mobil1 back in the tool compartment. (Mine sure did.) Why? Because although every car company has figured out how to build a high performance engine that doesn't consume oil - Porsche ain't there yet. No-sir-ee. You're a Porsche owner. It's a race car. You need to add a quart of oil every 800 miles or so. What f'g year is this??

The interior (especially) on the new Cayenne's is to die for. Incredible. But there's just no way I'll put up with Porsche's arrogance and greed. I hated my Cayenne for these reasons and won't look at one again - especially when I can buy virtually the same car (Touareg) for 10's of thousands fewer $$.

Rant over.

Congrats on the SRT! Very nice rig.

Since there's a lot of hijacking going on already, +1 on the '13 Touareg TDI. Great DD. Great tow car. Zero defects in 15k miles. Unless you count the awful nav/infotainment system as a defect.

Great looking DD! White with Black accents looks awesome! Our son has a '12 SRT8 as DD. Just put on 1st set of replacement tires at 27,000 miles- ouch- was that ever a surprise! LOL! Enjoy her! Son does his in Ft.Worth/Metroplex area. Be safe!

I squashed one of those once with my F250. It left a bratwurst-like grease stain on the macadam.

I am about to start thinking about a new DD in June, and I looked up the SRT Jeep. I owned a 2006 Charger SRT8 and loved it. Best seats I ever had in a car, including Recaro's.

I was shocked when I found out the SRT Jeep would be in the low to mid 60's. My charger was like $44k back in 2006. Have they really gone up this much since then ? I think the jeep version was in the High 40's when it came out.

Did they come off the list price a good bit? Seems like the low to mid 50's is where it should be priced.

My charger had a perfect amount of exhaust growl, and that hemi is tough to beat !
