MULTIPLE GT SYNDROME

URGENT: FROM THE CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL (CDC)

Scientist at the Center For Disease Control (CDC) are alarmed by recent reports of an outbreak of a new strain of virus causing otherwise normal adults, principally males, to acquire numerous high perfomance cars, often a variety of makes, but most recently and specifically, 2005 and 2006 Ford GTs. The virus, known as "secondGTacquirus," which seems to have incubated at a recent GT "Rally" and spread to various Ford afficianados, causes current Ford GT owners to acquire a second, third, or even fourth Ford GT, usually in different colors. Scientists working at the CDC had no comment other than stating "we've never seen this type of out break spread so quickly. Otherwise healthy, normal men are buying GTs at an unprecendented rate, even though some have no intention of driving them."

A second strain of the virus, called Gtacquirus/Heffneritis, causes GT owners to keep a "stock" car and convert a second one to a car with earth shattering performance. Various auto journals testing the Heffneritus cars have been seen walking away from the test car in a stupor over the car's split personality of being a docile street machine one minute, and a possible land speed record car the next. At this point no journalist has come down with secondGTacquirus. Scientists say that could be due to the fact that most journalist are cheap asses to begin with.

Signs or indications that a GT owner is likely to succumb to the illness usually start with the owner remarking how nice it would be to have a "driver" car while cleaning his current one. Other symptoms usually appear when a current GT owner is caught staring at a car with a different color, and heard mumbling "maybe I should have bought a (insert one) black, blue, yellow car instead."

Some patients appear normal, but are heard repeating "this one's off to Jason, this one's off to Jason" while being admitted to the CDC facility.

A few secondGTacquirus sufferers have actually sold a second or third car, only to break down in cold sweats, hives, and tremors. These patients have been known to scour the internet and car club circuit looking for additional GTs to replace their sold car. Only one patient is known to have disposed of all of his GTs and survived without replacing them. He is, however, residing in a mental institution wearing a straight jacket, muttering to himself "it's not a GT40, it's a GT."

Scientists working on a vaccine are not optimistic. "With Ford out of the supercar market, most of these patients are doomed to buy, drive, and trade '05 and '06 GTs. They feel there will never be more of them, so they have to hoard the good ones out there," said Dr. I. M. Drivin, Chief epidemiologist at the CDC, himself a GT afficianado. Some in the research community think Dr. Drivin is getting in too deep with his research. Shortly after this interview,Dr. Drivin was heard talking to two GT dealers about no stripe cars.

One patient summed up his dilemma saying "they're rare, beautiful, fast, and expensive. But two GTs, even three of four are still cheaper than two wives."

I must come out of the closet ... I am afflicted with this very condition.
I was just diagnosed last month after the rally. My wife is asking me to seek medical attention. I tried telling her my Tungsten gal needed a mate. Fortunately, a black no striper infected me. I secretely think my illness makes her happy, as she has one to drive.

Original Virus

I may have been one of the original sources of this virus. It affected me early on and I have not been able to shake it. It may be terminal............GO BLU

I guess this could also make me the drug dealer? :lol

You got it ALL WRONG. All you guys with the 1 GT are the ones with the disease. It is a common fact that he who has the most GTs will be king in the afterlife!

S.E. - better be real careful. CDC's Dr. Drivin is likely to insitute a a full scale research lab near the site of Rally IV. And is planning to impound all GT's "for further study" by his top researchers.

Due to the large number of GT's in the study group, the CDC is hiring addtional researchers for this project. They will be looking for researchers that:
1) have a minimun of 20,000 miles of GT experience,
2) have competition driving licenses,
3) have a fondness for Makers Mark Manhattan's
4) have attained Mark IV Ford GT Forum status
5) have at least one green DOT and > 1,000 posts
6) have never owned or driven a Red GT

The preliminary thought is that a group "GT endorfins" are the root cause of this disease. It is also thought to exist in all GT owners, but seemingly only manifests itself for GT owners with big garages.

Consider yourself forewarned!

SecondGTacquirus affliction has also spawned an offshoot virus that is rare, but quite acute when diagnosed; musthavanoStripetoo. MustahavanoStripetoo is much rarer, but has been diagnosed among GT owners who only saw striped cars and were totally stunned when they were first exposed to a stripe free car. Many GT owners were so overwhelmed by their first exposure to a stripe free car that they became erratic, inconsolable, and financially reckless, trying to buy any or all stripe free cars that became available. This has been the case especially with blue and black GTs.
Epidemiologists lament that the only treatment for this offshoot virus may be removing side stripes until further research can be done.

Doctor just told me I have SoldTOOmanyGTsTOevenCOUNTandSTILLloveEM-itis. Tells me that the only thing keeping me alive is to sell at least 3 GTs a week. Please give to my cause and help me so that I will continue living!

Second I wrote this post with one hand while fighting off my wife from activating "Parental controls" to prevent me from accessing this site due to the objectionable influence :devil it is having on me. :lol :cheers

This is a pretty good thread and brings a tear to my eye. Except for PL510 Jeff, becasue no one wants him to infect their RED cars. Good one Jeff.

Admittedly gentleman, I was seriously afflicted with "secondGTacquirus". After consultation with many afficionados I was told the only real cure would be to receive "Nardoinjections" as soon as possible. Very similiar to allergy injections. They also use a similar treatment for "yellowfever". I purchased the only known "Nardoinjection machine" at the Rally. The cost of medical equipment is absurd and in order to retreive my cost I would be happy to administer doses to a select few at a reasonable cost. A photo of your wife and her cell phone COULD potentially lower treatment fees.

I am now trying to find a cure for "thirdGTacquirus". Looks like I have to make a choice of my daughter going to college or working on this cure. Health comes first.

that is so funny that you put this up today, because.................... although I got infected at the rally III last month, I actually medicated my self(about 30 minutes ago) using a palliative treatment, here is the treatment. its working so far but no one know for how long this type of treatment lasts, could be days, or months, one thing is certain you would eventually have to readminister the medication.:biggrin I just hope this one holds me through next year.:biggrin:lol

I cant believe it yet. the reality hasnt set in.
