We had another amazing Mark IV track outing at COTA with full support from the great team at Multimatic. Eight Mark IVs participated for two days (April 8 and 9) and I was able to get almost 100 laps of seat time--not bad for an old guy! An incredible time was had by all and can't wait to get the Mark IV back to the track.Multimatic-378.jpgMultimatic-377.jpgMultimatic-854.jpgMultimatic-42.jpg

What an amazing opportunity to have access to such an incredibly capable car. The car looks so beautiful and somewhat sinister albeit with such clean lines. I love the color you chose. Enjoy in good health.

Thank you . . . the color is the same ECP silver that I have on my 2020 Ford GT Carbon Series and I will also be using the same silver on my Mustang GTD. And I was just looking at my track data and it confirmed that I actually completed 125 laps over the two days--I was definitely a bit tired but certainly had a smile on my face.

Wonderful

Any group shots of all the MKIVs there?

I try to be respectful of other owners that may not want images of their cars out in the public domain . . . I am certain that Multimatic has some shots with all the cars lined up and perhaps they will post on their Instagram account. It was certainly amazing seeing that many Mark IVs together and out on the track--there is no bad livery on the Mark IV. This is my fourth Mark IV track event since I took delivery last Feb (also at COTA) and they get better each time!

How many where there? Sorry if answered elsewhere.

8 is the answer.

Much appreciated . . . next Mark IV event is September at VIR. Just finished the custom pour on my seat insert to give me a bit better fit while on the track.SeatInsert1.JPGSeatInsert2.JPGSeatInsert3.JPGSeatInsert4.JPG

Comfort is key. How long is your typical session at these events?

it's about comfort and connectedness with the car . . . plus a good fitting seat cuts down on fatigue from the G forces that this car generates. Mark IV sessions are typically two full days and you have the support of the outstanding Multimatic team. When you are open lapping, you can stay out as long as your tires, fuel and body hold together--I typically stay out about 30 minutes or so and then come in to look at my lap data. I can usually run between 125-150 laps across the two days depending on the track, ambient temp and my overall fitness level. It is good fun and the only way to truly experience the marvel that is the Mark IV.

I just missed you. We were at COTA over the weekend. Thats a lot of laps! Great track.

I would be interested to know what lap times the Lynx GT1 was able to achieve at COTA . . . I fully recognize that it is still in development but just curious.

Our focus was aero testing and cooling. I did not try to put down a fast lap. I had my 225lb engineer in the car with me. I was breaking at 500 at turn 12. 200 break point would have increased the top speed even more. Side windows were also off the car. Did not have room for my Chillout boxes.

That all makes sense . . . will be great to see the GT1 on the track post development phase and sorry I missed the Sunday event--next time for sure!

That is really impressive!
I brake at ~200m mark and I am in the mid 160s....what does the car weigh and what kind of power is it making? Sequential gearbox?
