I was not expecting to buy this car. I was looking at the Lamborghini Gallardo. It truly was love at first sight! Then I spent countless hours doing research about the GT. What rock my world was when I was channel surfing and saw a TV program about the making of the GT man was I hooked.

I have a very big learning curve in this sport/hobby/passion. I have never been on a track and I never got any type of training behind a wheel. I want to do this right, while having fun! I have spent my life racing around in the sand dunes but nothing that looks like a racetrack. I eventually would want to do the Texas mile so I can achieve a personal goal of 200 mph. Maybe I will be ready in two years with several race clinics under my belt and just driving the car. I know that I will need to modify my GT, if I want to achieve the 200mph mark, but before I do any modification to my car I want to get the feel of it stock so I can appreciate it even more when I do modify it.

So my car should be at the house this coming Tuesday! Yeah!!! Now the good and bad news, on Thursday the kids the wife and me will be fishing and camping for ten days. I will be up in the mountains and for the first time in my life I will be dreaming about driving while I am fishing with my brother and our kids, how sick is that!

So like we say in the Desert drive it like you stole it! and Come to the Dark side we have cookies! :rofl

This is going to be a kick in the ass!

Best Regards,

Happy

Let me be the first to welcome you! You will truly enjoy your new GT. I've owned a Lamborghini Gallardo for a couple of years, and just traded it in this week on a 1000 mile 2008 Gallardo Superleggera. I drove the Super "L" back to back with one of the GT's yesterday, and I've got to say the GT is still the superior driver. There's something about that powerful, thumping V8 that really adds to the experience. I am sure that you'll love it. If you don't have much driving experience, take it easy on the "go pedal" until you fully understand how important controlling traction to the rear wheels is with this car. Treat it with respect, and you'll get paid back in spades. Enjoy!

Congrats - I know your feelings well. I recently purchased my tungsten. It sounds like you've done your homework - good call on th GT over the Lambo! You'll be rewarded and rewarded well with your new purchase. The GT has the exotic flare along with the American muscle - it's awesome!!

I was driving home from work yesterday in the GT and the person in front of me kept going from one side to the next. I noticed in the drivers side mirror he was staring at the GT... LOL. Funny thing is, if I was in front of a GT I'd be doing the same thing!

Life is good,

Lance

Man, does THAT sound familiar. :biggrin

Origionally I was thinking Gallardo or F-car. THEN Ford announced it would build the GT. And when I saw that now famous commercial, "The One" - game O-V-E-R!

CONGRATS!

Tim,

you got room for all the adopted children? Keep posting the purchases and the list is going to grow longer than just Jeff. :lol

congrats and I know the wait after you purchase the car can seem to last forever, I bought my car and it took about a week to get here and it was the best and the worst week all at the same time. no doubt you will enjoy your new car and probably wont be able to sleep the first night she is in the garage:cheers

Tim I love your avatar:thumbsup.............."sexy time":lol

Happy (Do you wish to be addressed as Happy or Mr. Feet?),

Congratulations. You will not be disappointed. Owning an FGT is a wonderful experience that you will continue to enjoy for years to come. You won't even have to drive it to have it make you smile. Just looking at the car sitting in the garage will do it.

Part of the great fun of the GT is the people you meet at the Rallys. If you are not planning on going to Rally IV, you should reconsider. You can run the Texas Mile at way less than 200 and still have a ball - legally and with relatively little danger to yourself and the car.

I hope to meet you in Austin. Or maybe on the drive from So Cal.

Aloha,

Hilo Dave

Hi Happy!

As you will soon find out, there are a LOT of really cool GT guys in your area (S CA), and there are a number of cruises, car shows, and get togethers on the west coast as well.

Congratulations on your new purchase and enjoy the ride...when you get back from your camping trip of course. :biggrin
