Just had my salvaged 2005 delivered

There is no FGT in the original colors of the Holman Moody car number 5 that took third at Le Mans 1966

The colors were the Ford Fairline Antique Bronze Circa 1966 with hot pink front trim so the car could be identified coming under the black light into the pit lane

Will post later. That would be an incredible
Looking GT

Getting close to being done, red went on yesterday and stripes will be added soon. Next glass and assembly. Scratches came out of the lights just fine and still should be under my 15k budget although the $1,100 paint bill was more then I expected. Can't wait to get it done. I always pick up my kids on their birthdays in one of my nice cars, and this is the last birthday we will have in grade school November 14th.

where do you find people to paint a ford gt for 1100 ?

where do you find people to paint a ford gt for 1100 ?

That would be just for the GT paint supplies.

Earl Sheib?

U scored

Keep it red; get a top end paint job

Doing the stripes right is hard

No Kidding, a quart of sonic blue base cost me $160, reducer $80 a gallon, then clear, activator etc etc etc.....

That would be just for the GT paint supplies.

No warranty :ack :eek

If I remember correctly painting my Quicksilver was 11k !! It is perfect though thanks to the GT Guys.

You should consider a White Heritage Scheme instead of stripes.

I discussed this with BONY a few years back and he agreed that "Brown and Pink" were too provocative.

That looks like Blonde & Pink

+1 i would definitely do a heritage scheme vs the stripes... but to each his own

Stuuning, what a great deal this is

Was this price just for a prep and paint of the same color???

Re: red/white "Heritage" scheme: I briefly noodled on getting a black no stripe car and doing the Heritage in red. I think it would look sharp! I just couldn't convince myself that I would have been able to conquer my previous black paint OCD obsession with trying to keep it clean. It's like shampoo (later/rinse/repeat) except black paint is spray detailer / California Duster / repeat.

^^That would be a cool combo but I agree. Black, possibly the best color overall when polished and clean, is miserable to keep that way.

Midnight blue is a little easier. :bored :biggrin

IMO black is the best looking color on most all cars but I have had 3 and will NEVER own one again.
