has anyone else seen this? Last Week Jay posted a review/test drive of his 2005 GT (the first production model sold to the public). It's basically an 18 minute and 2 second love letter to the car.
As I've mentioned on my other recent posts, my GT has been my daily driver this summer (thanks to my daughter taking over my Range Rover), but after watching the video, I immediately wanted to go out to the garage and jump in, and/or lick it all over! It's a real homage to a true American classic.
Regardless of what you might think about his TV show (Craig Ferguson rules late night!), Mr Leno clearly loves his cars - check it out at www.jaylenosgarage.com - the video is currently on page two of the site.

Site is majorly draggin for me. Can't even get it to load. Arg! I'm really looking forward to watching it. His site is actually quite good for car enthusiasts. It's not like Top Gear pure entertainment, but he really knows his stuff, so I'd love to see the full review.

I've been fortunate enough to hang out at Leno's garage a couple of times and the guy is a true car guy. Always under something when we show up, in the trademark jeans and jean shirt, greased up hands. He took us out in some 1915ish wooden Crane Simplex(?) on the L.A freeway. That takes a very brave person. :lol His collection isn't exactly what I would buy, but you have to respect that he doesn't just buy every new expensive car and stuff it in there. No Ferraris! And best of all, he actually drives his cars. No using them as attention magnets for himself.

Must be that Apple product you are using.

This is the 2nd page link, it works well in Windows 7!

That was awesome! Thanks so much for posting that Mongrel! Seeing that thing tear down the freeway really is inspiring. Luckily I just got new tires and was tearing it up earlier, so I didn't have to go back out. :biggrin

God damn this is one bad ass car.

Wonderful! Thank you!

:usa

At 9:00 I learned that the FGT doesn't have anti-lock brakes. Something I never knew. Other than that a great accurate review! :thumbsup :banana:banana:banana

Yes it does. And ask me how I know.

What a wondeful interview.

No way could I have said it better. Covered everthing that I ever thought, felt or did with my GT.

Thanks Jay.

And all those at Ford that had anything to do with the GT program.

Woo Hoo! And I've got one!

Obviously a man with great taste. ITS RED!!!!

Obviously Mr Leno consulted with our own fjpikul prior to buying his GT.

awesome !

you can say that again!

(Craig Ferguson rules late night!)

NO ONE has ruled late night since Johnny Carson retired. I doubt that anyone ever will...at least not at anywhere near Mr. Carson's level. He wasn't referred to as the king of late night fer nuthin'...:cheers

Simply fantastic. Thanks for the link.

No Ferraris! .

I thought he had one token 308 :confused

It is rumored in Fchat that Jay is a closet Fcar owner.

I think it may have been reported elsewhere here, but in the August 2010 "Hemmings Classic Car", Leno puts the GT in his Top 10 list of collectiables.

I have never been to his garage but have met him a couple of times at races/car shows and he could not be a nicer guy. Also check out his video of him driving/discussing his 93 black Viper RT. Like most of his car videos, he gets a few facts wrong, but it is very entertaining.

Great video. Thanks for sharing.

That was sweet. He pretty much summed up why GT owners love their cars, and why the rest of us want one lol.

Thanks for the link.

A few things I noticed..

Galpin License Plate frame
Ford Racing sticker inside the clamshell
No Camillo signature
At 11.50 into the video none of the gauges worked
Car is not lowered

Gauges were not working as car was off when the video guy shot the gauges. It was then edited into the video. You can clearly see they are working when he is driving.
How did you know there is NO Camillo Signature?
Not suprised it has a Galpin plate. They are in southern Cal and from what I understand take care of the HIGH-END customers
He mentioned he liked the ride height of the car, so I am not suprised that it was not lowered.

I think he summed the car up quite well! Too bad he got the slow color...... :biggrin
