Too expensive to produce a right hand drive for overseas! All produced and shipped are left hand drive!

Thanks everyone for the really kind words, it's torturous now going through the wait to drive it properly when PPF has been installed! In the mean time here are some more pictures from the day and how it went.

I hired the Goodwood Motor Circuit for the day to have some freedom for the photos and video, but drove over with both my Focus RS Heritage Edition (1 of 50 cars for the UK market only as the final mk3 RS) and my Red Edition which is a bit of a project car.

For the unloading on the grid, the kind folks at Ford UK brought out their very special 1967 GT40 racecar that's since been repainted in the 66 livery, as well as their 2005 GT, and additionally Alan Mann Racing brought the 1968 Escort mk1 - this was the very car that won the BTCC in 1968 and the model to which my Heritage RS is the 2018 tribute car; all as I mentioned in the first post of this thread!

The very first thing I did was drop it into Track mode and head out for a gentle lap! I'll forever remember that the first time I ever drove it was on such a historically significant piece of tarmac.

The Goodwood Motor Circuit is steeped in history, so bringing out the cars for a full family photo was something I had been really keen to make happen. Ford UK own a pair of GT40s and the white with blue 05 GT, so it's a thanks to them for their patience with moving dates for this activity to bring the cars.

While I was off for the induction tour of the GT, some of the other guys took my two Focus' and the original blue one which was actually my former car being brought down by its new owner for some laps around too.

To close out the day we then headed over to the Alan Mann Racing workshop where Henry and team had kindly made some space available to shoot the new car in place as the icing on the cake of an amazing day.

You can imagine this took a lot of planning, especially when delays cropped up with the car itself and everything for the venues, cars involved, transport, photographers and my crew had to be rescheduled but it has resulted in a day I shall never forget that really and truly builds on the history of a car I expect to own throughout the entirety of my life.

The plans for 2019 are big, with many events in Europe for the first half before then being intent to bring the car all around the USA on a big tour from July to September, and if there's a rally in October I'll be there! Then it'll head to the Middle-East for the later months when the European weather drops, hopefully having driven many tracks during this tour from Spa and the Nurburgring to Yas Marina and Laguna Seca.

I feel incredibly lucky to be one of the lucky custodians of the Ford GT and I will treasure it forever as a result, and I'd also like to say a thank you to those of you I've already met and those I will hopefully meet in the future who make it such a fantastic community to be a part of - thank you!

Congratulations, Tim. Stunning photos- we appreciate you sharing them here with us. When the considerable excitement of your new FGT is diminished a bit, you should consider getting a 2005-2006 FGT stablemate to add to your impressive, growing collection.

Wow! Killer photos of an amazing car Shmee! I wasn't a fan of those stripes but that last photo in the darkened garage made me a fan. It takes guts to order it but it turned out fantastic! I really hope I can see it in person. Rally this fall in the US - yes!

PS Ford chose correctly with you! Thanks for sharing!

Congrats Tim. The wait was well worth it, since our visit to multi matic a couple of months ago. Wow looks fantastic in the sunlight. I think better than you expected vs in the plant . Great way to start the ownership journey. Have fun, be safe and enjoy it to the limit. Look forward to seeing you back in Toronto some time soon.
Best,

Thank you everyone! I'm going to take it for some photos tomorrow which means a few very slow miles crawling around to get a small feel for what it's like at least. Booked to go into PPF as soon as the new year hits so hopefully out about 2 weeks later and then we're all go, go, go.

Life is good! A Senna and NFGT back to back!

The handovers were literally one to the other! The GT was on Thursday, got it parked up at about 10pm then back in the car at 9am to head to McLaren for the Senna... Those days did not involve much sleep; that's for sure!

However, the Senna still needs final prep at the dealer and valeting before going for PPF, in the mean time I intend to pull the GT out of the garage tomorrow for some photos and to just sit, learn about it and take it all in!
