from the GT40forum. Black/ GOLD GTX-1 w/ Whipple, gold BBS wheels and the doors! Appears to be in Fla - or the car is plated there!

Love the color combo! 3x:cheers

Thanks for posting Mike! Great colors, like the John Player Special F1 car that Mario drove!

I dunno. I keep thinking it needs that big screaming chicken decal on the hood and then it'd look just like Burt Reynold's Trans-Am in Smokey and the Bandit. :wink

I'm with Chris on this one.

Yes, he does post here.

It does have the JPS qualities. They were stunning rides ehh!?

I always liked how Ferrari had the gold wheels on their blood red cars as well back in the late '60's and 70's.

I'd like to see this bad boy on the road. I bet it has great presence.

That thread is missing the interior pics. That car needs to be seen inside and out. I am actually a memeber of that forum(although I had never posted).

Every GTX1 interior I have ever seen is absolutely stunning. I'd love to see the interior. Please post the pics if you have them. :cheers

Thanks Jason - I missed that earlier thread.

Wow- what a car, what an interior! All the latest CF on top of it! - Mark did a great Job. Steve, have a blast with her!

MAD IN NC (just call me Bufort):biggrin

.

Beautiful Car!

I think it's stunning. It must be gorgeous in person. Very beautiful to see a departure from the standard color schemes done in such a nice way. Also reminiscent of the vintage Lamborghini Miuras that had many of them come originally in gold wheels and rockers. The designers of the Miura based the shape on the GT40's, so a cool crossover vintage look. Some Miura owners have recently started to return their cars to the original "gold" spec. Very interesting play on colors and history. I like it when owners dream up new creative ways to personalize their cars using their heads and history. Clever.

Just curious why the different reception of this car and the infamous white and orange.

IMHO, waaaay too much bling for such a beauty.
'Course, that's why each of us get to choose our own ride.

This months 'Sports Car Market' magazine has an article on page 54 that speaks to your observation. The '71 Miura SV depicted is simply stunning in black w/gold wheels and rockers.

I can still remember the first time I saw a Miura in the opening scenes of the original 'Italian Job' as a young boy. That has been a lasting impression all these years.

..........different strokes for different folks??

There is NO comparison between the wht/ org versus the BLK GTX-1 conversion as I see it. Different class of work and deliverables all together.

The custom work of Gennadi and the GTX-1's I've seen are a rework of the FGT we all as owners charish...

Just remember... Opinions are like A$$holes, everybody has one! :rofl

Saw Burt Reynold's Trans-Am in VEGAS wednesday for sale at one of the casinos ....... its the price of our GT's !!!!!!!!!!! Has his autograph on the dash.
