Well, let me chime in.

I love the black and gold...I mean it looks as mean and powerful as anything on 4 wheels I have ever seen.

I am privileged to have a very "honored" super car. I have had a long string of compliments on my GTX1 from not only friends on these forums (whose opinions I value) but also from the creators of the Ford GT itself in private emails!

That being said I have also been told that my GTX1 is (and I quote):

"it looks like what a hip hop guy would do to a Cadillac"

"I think the color is horrible but I am sure it is fast"

"it looks like a fakey do kit car to me"

Yes, everyone has their opinion...and that being said, I have not seen a car on this earth that I would trade my GTX1 one for (just yet). :thumbsup

Joe Sackey is a good friend and neighbor. He was privately selling me his 1972 Lime Green Miura SV that had just completed a frame off restoration earlier that year at Bobileff's. It's been in so many magazines and books you can't count them all. It was the last U.S. spec car (I believe one of only twenty-four U.S. spec) delivered with all options, air cond, dry sump... Hell Bob Wallace had even rebuilt the motor using a few tricks from the SVJ. I stalled at $240,000. It later sold Christie's Pebble Beach after the hammer for just a few dollars more. I was accurate on the value, but I didn't listen to my inner voice about how under valued they were. One of the biggest financial mistakes I have ever made, along with clearly the worst car mistake I have ever made. Today it's worth way over 1 million.

After that, I heard of the Ford GT coming out, and I decided to get a "modern classic" instead. Here we are. $800,000 poorer, but happy.

Gulf GT...

How many years did it take to climb to $1M?

How much do you speculate you would have paid in maintenance/repair/insurance/etc.. bills during that same period?

How much do you think you would have driven her after it appreciated 50%?

What price do you put on the smile you get every time you get behind the wheel of your GT? :wink

How much do you think you COULD have driven her between repairs?

Hmmmmmmmmmm....funny thing. I just noticed that I have been stuck on 335 posts count.

No frequent flyer/post points accumulating. This ain't helpin' me get that new set of Callaways.
