Is the '05-06 GT passé ?

After spending the weekend in Daytona with the new GTs I was wondering if our "05-06 GTs are outdated? So I decided to drive it myself & see. I did one of my favorite drives from the valley to Sears Point Raceway & up the Pacific Coast Highway from Bodega Bay to Ft Ross. Round trip is exactly 300 miles. My GT, as most of you know, had spent almost a year at the GT Guys getting a complete makeover & 50,000 mile checkup. It is now like new!

So this was my first real drive since 2014. And it was not disappointing. On the twisties the GT made me feel like a race car driver & on the highways it made me feel like a rockstar. Everyone was waving, giving me the thumbs up & taking photos of the car just like always! After a long work week I felt like a new man after the drive. Wow - what a car!

It truly is timeless & I am certain in the next 10 years & beyond it will continue to stir our souls & all those that come in contact with it.

Thank you FMC :)

Ed

AGREED :thumbsup

Great photo! Great car color! Love northern California coastline... Been there many times.

Ed, I just drove 1,250 miles in one day from my parents in Palm beach To New York. At 3 am people would pull right up and video in the dark. The car as you stated is timeless. The new one will have its place, but the 05/06 is now set in stone.
I like Jeff L. challenge anyone else with any other sports car to drive that long and have the same feeling as the GT. Just an incredible car.

Wow! At 80mph that would have taken you over 15 ½ hours... With no stops... I could never do that

Nice pics, where is that?

I hope so. Only chance I have to get another.

Great post Ed!

Your car looks great Ed! Love it! Interested to know what you did to it.

Ed,
There is no doubt that our cars are as timeless as our wives!

On my favorite section of the PCA. Very little traffic & great scenery. Everyone drives south of Monterey but north of SF is the best!
